The first consideration would be
the way the rifle is going to be used.

Long range bench rest type shooting
or packing it into the field and up mountains.
Shooting from improvised rests
or offhand snapshots
at uncertain ranges.

Scope weight, surprisingly, can vary a great deal.
Absolutely right.

Fortunately, there's A LOT of great scopes on the market today. And, very well priced I might add.
It's pretty amazing what you can get now.

Since it’s a 26” barrel with a composite stock, it’s really a hunting style rifle, so I think it should be set up as such. It’s not going to be shot a whole lot, like a range gun. I’d like to keep it light, but also being that it’s 7mm mag, it is capable of reaching out to touch something.

I don’t really need it, but it was to good to pass up

My gun and knife walls have been featured here before
but I keep adding stuff and rearranging things.

One might wonder
why is there a Woodman's Pal
displayed with fighting knives and bayonets.
The reason is because it was issued in WWII
to US Army operators in the Pacific
and had its own field manual
which showed how to use it as a weapon.

All of the metal hooks have liners from Wall Control
or liners made from inexpensive soft vinyl tubing
from the auto parts store.

The Texas flag wall has arms
from the Civil War to today,
challenge coins
and many of my Spyderco knives.

A belated Happy New Year, everyone.

Recently picked up a 1st Gen M&P Shield with extra mags, night sights, and an Apex trigger kit. Will be a much more comfortable summer carry than my Dagger and I couldn't resist for the price.

Could not pass up the deal PSA is having on the Armalite AR10 Tac Series. I went with the 16" version - they're on sale for $1,299!
MSRP is $2,499 & they're usually about $2k before taxes

Welp, I really love that Armalite AR10 TAC16 I bought. I like it even better than the Competition Model they sell. It has the best outta the box 2 Stage Precision Trigger I've ever pulled. Breaks like glass at 4 pounds
Magpul Furniture & an M-Lok rail
Plus, it was made this February 28, 2024
Feb 28th was my dad's bday
I'm seriously considering buying another for that price .....the 16,18 & 20 were all the same price
Oh, and if you like 5.56, they had the Armalite Competition Model on sale for $899!
Those things are always $1500-$1600

I’ve wanted a heavy, steel, hammer fired pistol for a while now, this is my first optic and optic ready pistol, hope the hype is real. Ordered my optic mounting plate today from Cajun Gun Works.

Benben, how's the trigger? Any creep?
Also curious as to where she breaks at pound wise?

Thank you MacLaren.
And by the way, it is not a 9mm lady gun.
It's a .45ACP man stopper.
