Did the quenching or air cooling change the tensile strength or springing strength (?) of the clip?
I have had no issues , And have done both styles of clips . I would suggest to be aware that using an extremely high range may could possibly damage a clip . I use a small refillable torch that uses butane . Apply heat to back side of clip to produce better results . I have found that older , thicker clips are more resistant to the process. Lynch clips are thicker and they actually use a higher heat range to achieve their industrial look from my amateur testing. MG2

Shout out to manixguy@1994, Dan 😃, for the how to on the heat ano! Pictures don't do the colors justice, it looks so good 👌 i really like it but it could be more even so might redo it. Clearly one of the screws is paler then the other two 🫣 I see more clips getting this threatment in my future 🥳

And please feel free to criticize, happy to learn from others.

Looks great Paul ! I left my screws unheated so they match all the other screws , but that is a matter of personal choice . For your first attempt it looks outstanding. MG2

Swayback just got a lot better with the normal titanium clip.

The lanyard with a silver bead also gives it the best look in my opinion :smirk

Originally this is a DLT exclusive PM2 in M390 with red G10 scales. Swapped the scales for Flytanium Lotus Ti ones, customs Ti backspacer and heat ano'd deepcarry pocketclip.

Kinda hard to see in pictures, but I had John at BGM thin out a Siren for me. He did real nice work and fast to boot. Bye-bye makers marks — it’s a slicing machine now.

New micarta scales from RGT for the Kapara and LynchNW wireclip replacements.

Very comfortable and more grip in the hand.

Now to get my greasy hands on that micarta so it darkens!

Micarta scales from AWT.

Image

The lanyard tube press from Sharp Dressed Knives worked well to pop out the tubes.

OD green linen for the Smurf blue BBS M390

Fresh scales feel good! This blue PM2 was at one point my most used knife. It is hard to believe the first run was from 2011! The convex still performs well. She's ready for the next 13 years.

Just Rit Dyed my Manix and heat anodized all the SS hardware to as close to bronze as I could. First time heat anodizing anything and just went for it. I think it came out ok.
