The steel junkies among us get an extra treat in the form of CPM-REX121, mated to a lightweight Sage 5 chassis.

I'm not sure about this one. Sure, I want a big helping of REX121, but I'm not excited about the Sage 5. Wait and see...

Looking at the prices of U.S. made folders with CTS-BD1N blade steel and FRN scales (Para3 & Native Chief) I’m guessing a street price of around $130-$140 for the Charisma.

Ouch! Big money for a such a knife - I’d expect to be paying no more than $80. The Golden made Ukpk in the same steel with its arguably more intricate / labour intensive backspring is sub $90.

At That price it’s going to be competing directly with the base steel Native’s.

Definitely a favorite of mine. It's a really small folder with a crazy thin blade (1 or 1,5mm) it's a lightsaber

More like a high performance letter opener, but I dig it. I had a slip joint letter opener I bought at a bazaar in the Middle East that looked very similar.

Indeed. Although like you i am kinda shocked that is all. Since there were more that looked and felt finished to me. Ohwel maybe we can talk about those after we meet again next year.

That’s great to know. Reservations aside, I think this is the most promising new design I’ve seen for some time. Very excited for the Charisma’s release.
Speaking of which, would late 2024 be realistic for its release?

Hey Sal the most fun fact around that knife is for me personally that Eric told us his son so you’re grandson gave it his name! I am sure that makes you very proud Grand father!

The Charisma looks like it will be a purchase for me if the price is right. I've been looking for something thinner than the chap and this looks like it will answer that with a slim in-pocket profile as well.

My concerns are this though: The Z-cut I owned broke through the centre of the Spydiehole… cutting a potato on a plastic cutting board!
Although the stock is 0.2mm thicker on the Charisma, it’s hole is significantly bigger than the Z-cut. This area WILL be a point of weakness on this knife.
I honestly think Spyderco should do away the Spydiehole on this model, or at the very least make it smaller.

Nice little slicer. I like thin blades, but this ^ was my first reaction. Not much metal around that hole.
