Well, after trying to acquire a Drop Point Zaan for what seems like the last 4-5 years I finally ordered one directly from CRK. I’ve had a few in carts trying to check out, but this knife has been a total PITA to get.
I wished I would have ordered it back when I started looking, because with a 6 year wait I’d only have a few left. At least now I can get it exactly the way I want it at a fair price; Drop Point, Glass Blasted, Blue Hardware and Burgundy Lanyard.
That's been my most carried knife last few months. Seems like there is hope with CRK staying in stock lately... It's only a matter of time before DP Zaans are easier to grab and cheaper than MSRP on the secondary. CRK Magnacut has surpassed my expectations and I'd consider a second at the right price and sell my Tanto that looks cool but I'm probably never going to use lol.
I’ve passed on a few tanto’s in hopes for a drop point with no luck. I always second guess my choice, but I know I will always still be looking for the drop point. Hunting this Zaan has made me more neurotic than anything else, so I finally just ordered one and stopped looking.

Just keep hunting on bladeforums or crk authorized dealers; I was able to find one within a few months of hunting, some of it is luck and the rest is patience (and obsession)
I just sold my Zaan last week and bought a new storm door with the money from it. So far I'm not missing it, but I have a feeling it will creep up on me!

I just tried googling Storm Door Knife thinking Rick must have found another good one.

Hahahaha!! What a concept that would be. I've got a funny mental image, I need to let Sal know about this

Yes, MC DP. I had a Tanto that looked super cool I planned to glass blast, but I just couldn't see myself enjoying using it like the drop point. I sold it and figured I already had the only Zaan I need... But then I saw a MC DP for less than sand blast retail that had already been glass blasted and sharpened (well) to 17dps. Couldn't pass that one up to finally see the GB glory on a Zaan in person, but not sure what I'm going to do with two lol. I like them both, but the GB has a classiness to it. Looks like the plunge grind changed a bit over the years (2017 vs 2023 in the below).
I still have to form an opinion on the usefulness of tantos in the real world, but on the Inkosi and Umnumzaan it looks the business!
I read a comment somewhere about the Inkosi’s angular blade and curvy handle that went something like, “The Inkosi Tanto is the perfect combination of sex and violence”.
Seems legit…
