MicroJimbo?
MicroJimbo?
What's going on with the MicroJimbo? It's not listed under "New Product Reveal" or "Clipit" but if you search MicroJimbo it comes up as coming soon.
Re: MicroJimbo?
The reason it isn't under New Product Reveal is that is only for the latest issue, and it was in the previous one. Everything unreleased from that Reveal is in the same boat.
Re: MicroJimbo?
yes. i tried to bring this up in a thread for those models in coming soon limbo, but it hasn't been addressed yet. the only way to find the models that have been revealed before this reveal and haven't yet been released is to search for them individually.

Around the 3:51 mark, Eric says that the Microjimbo may drop in a month or so.
Re: MicroJimbo?
That's a pretty nice looking knife. It will be nice to have a wharny with a deep carry clip.

I wonder what a MicroJimbo blade would feel like on a different handle - a straight EDC user.

I haven’t got one yet. Was just excited that they will finally available to purchase. Apologies I should have been more clear.toomanyquestions wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:56 pmThe Micro looks like it has great EDC size; you must keep us updated!
I wonder what a MicroJimbo blade would feel like on a straight EDC user handle; the MJ's blade profile is more pleasing than the Rockjumper's profile.

Re: MicroJimbo?
What is the natural placement of the index finger on the MicroJ? Does the index finger go in the handle groove (ie, back) or does it sort of informally hang out around the flat ricasso area (ie, forward)? If forward, wouldn't there be some danger of slippage onto the edge? If back, can you get a 4 finger grip?

Re: MicroJimbo?
i was initially really excited about this knife, but the more i look at it, the less interested i am. to be fair, i've been gravitating toward longer blades than when this was announced and that's obviously not the fault of this design by any means. but im also wondering about the grip. it looks like you'd have to grip it with the index finger forward. i doubt it's much of a safety issue since the rest of your fingers will lock you in place, but a choil might be nicer. of course... i've never held the knife, so take that assessment with a grain of salt.Bolster wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 10:36 pmWhat is the natural placement of the index finger on the MicroJ? Re: MicroJimbo?
I handled this today at my brick and mortar, definitely not a SD knife as the pinky doesn’t really fit well. And I have very medium hands. I like it, and may still grab one as an EDC but I don’t think the three finger grip lends to the slashing as the Yo2 does

Re: MicroJimbo?
I just got this one in today and I am enjoying it so far. I love the shape of the blade and how easy it flicks open and shut. I do wish there was a little bit of a finger coil to assist in the grip. I have small-medium hands and my pinky fits on the handle just fine, but do wish it had that choil for a little bit added Security. Overall, I am pleased as I was looking for a compression lock, satin finish, smaller size blade.

Re: MicroJimbo?
I am interested in someone who gets both comparing and contrasting the micro Jimbo and the lil Native wharncliffe.

Re: MicroJimbo?
While I don’t have the wharncliffe, I have the lil native with leaf blade. Handle is a little more comfortable on the native, possibly due to choil but I personally find the micro comfortable due to the taper. My hand does not feel too far removed from blade when riding all the way down. I also find the micro flips easier by thumb flick. Might be due to position of thumb stud, might be due to weight of blade. Very similar knives yet very different. Honeymoon phase for the micro so tough for me to currently fully evaluate.
