New Para 3 Maxamet Heat Mark?

This is brand new, was just curious if this is just a heat mark discoloration from grinding?
It's on both sides where the grind ends above and below the hole.

I have the same knife and you've definitely proven my eyesight's not getting any better. I looked with my glasses, then a magnifying glass, and finally, my fountain pen 10x loupe.

What I see and, in all seriousness my eyesight is not great, is different from yours. There is a slight dark grey/black colour around the same size as your picture but definitely none of the blue orange multi colouring, just that little bit of dullness.

Hope that helps in case you're wondering if they're all like that.

Good to know it's okay.

I only have one knife with Maxamet and I've been very impressed with this steel. I like the performance and the machined look to it. My future plan is to get a couple with SPY27 but if another nice G-10 or Micarta Maxamet bladed knife came up I'd probably go for that too, to own at least a couple.
