I consider all of those as over-priced toys. In some places, you'll get hard time as they are likely considered in the same vein as brass knuckles.

Illegal in many places.
Limited buyers might drive the price.

I follow Brian from PNW Toast and would like to get one at some point. Unfortunately, they are hard to get ahold of - you've got to raffle your way in.
This looks similar. Sure, it might work as a "knuck," but I'd bet you use it a lot more often as a bottle opener or worry stone.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Well we are all superstitious I have some Pebble that came from Japan that it is rumored they are good luck.
Cost zero, life has been lucky, but also do get it some help with work ethic.

From what I saw in the video of it, I’m not sure it could even be safely used as a knuckle, if someone were so inclined. You’d probably end up hurting yourself more if you used it that way.
As far as would I want one? Not really. If I need a bottle opener, I have one on my SAK. But I can see it as something others might want as pocket jewelry, a unique, handy little tool, as something to fidget with, etc.

Re: Anyone think this is functional
As a SD tool, it's probably not very functional and, as others noted, potentially illegal. As a bottle opener, I'm fairly confident that it will open a bottle every bit as well as this $1 one.

I really don’t see any use for this “tool” that wouldn’t be better accomplished by a different tool.
For its size, it’s almost comically useless. It’s a cap lifter and that’s it. An implement you hardly need anymore anyways and is easily improvised if you ever do.
No disrespect to those who like it, or like the designer and want to support him. Sometimes we just like something and no amount of reasoning can change it.
It’s not for me though.

That is just an expensive item to fill your pocket with more junk. Forget it.
