Found a Spyderco Des Horn still in stock at the only cutlery carrying Spydercos in my department (maybe county is a better word for this?). They sell the S30V PM2 at 230€, and the Des Horn at the same price. I knew what to pick up :squinting-tongue.

This Rhino arrived earlier today.rhino_01.jpg
I'm curious to know what you'll think of it after some carry and use ! It's a model that I've been interested in for a while now. I really like Spyderco's XHP, but only have it on 2 knives.

I'm very sorry for the late reply. I'm one of the worst persons to ask for a long-term review as I tend to bring a different knife every day.

During the handful of times I've carried the knife, I found it to be comfortable in hand. I can just get a full four finger grip on it, but I have smaller hands than most on the forum.

My Rhino doesn't drop shut when I unlock the compression lock, perhaps due to the light weight of the blade. I actually prefer it that way, as opposed to the Yojimbo 2 or Amalgam, which feel like a guillotine when closing.

The trailing point was a bit tricky to use when stabbing into something, as I only have two knives with this profile and haven't attained the needed muscle memory for it.

CTS-XHP is a joy to touch up on the Sharpmaker and a strop. It's one of my favorite steels from Spyderco. Hope this helps.

No problem, I was asking because CTS-XHP is also a steel I love from Spyderco. I can sharpen it to a pretty high grit and it keeps its bite. A fellow french AFI was selling his Rhino, but I ended up buying the Sun&Moon Chaparral :squinting-tongue . I think that overall, the geometry and blade shape will be better for me.

I have nothing against a trailing point, but I prefer for it to be on a 3.5" blade or more !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

That's good to hear, Ramonade. The Chaparral is always a solid choice.

I was holding out for either a k390 variant or some sort of exclusive but finally caved…vg10 is great and there’s nothing wrong with a base model. Some of my favorite knives are vanilla variants so hey…should be in on Monday
