Serrated UKPK Salt. There's a chance it could turn out to be the serrated Salt Swick if it ever gets here.

There were two really obscure small Spyderco models that I enjoyed when I owned them. They were the SPOT and SPUR models. The SPOT was a really small fixed blade which came in two variants. It was a very handy model for a wide range of cutting chores.

The SPUR has always been one of my favorite small Spyderco folders. There are not many avid Spyderco collectors even aware of the SPUR model.

Finding either one of those past small Spyderco models would be quite an accomplishment. I haven't seen either one of them for sale or trade in over 10 years. But check them out in the archives>> they were both great designs.

Does the Persistence count? I haven’t owned one but my local B&M ordered a bunch and I have almost pulled the trigger a few times on a black blade SE lightweight

I think a folder with a 3” blade length is in the full sized range for a pocket carry knife and would be considered mid sized.

Of the knives generally considered small, the ones I most admire are the Dragonfly and Cricket because they are awesome designs, but I very seldom carry either. I just prefer larger blades, and where I live I'm allowed to carry them, so I do. There was a time when I traveled a lot, and was forced to carry a small knife. I chose the C22 Michael Walker and carried it for years, and hundreds of thousands of miles, so I guess it was my favorite at the time. I never really liked it, though.

Now that I can carry anything, 3 inches is about my lower limit, so I'll define small as being the smallest I choose to carry, thus the wonderful UKPK Salt.

Spent a week in Key West a couple weeks back. My Spyderco Rhino was a constant companion, except for the one day we went to the beach. Sadly no cool pics or stories as it barely saw any use.

Literally sitting here handling a Chaparral (S&M) for the first time … and it is already one of my favorite small Spydies. Outstanding blade to handle ratio and F&F and execution are dead on.
That being said, I have to give props to my other favorite “smalls” as well:

Kiwi (original)
Kopa
D-Fly
Manbug
Jester

If I had to choose ONE to have at the expense of all the others … Chaparral might just take it, but it would be a tearful goodbye … each of the others have their own special things to offer.
Glad I don’t have to make that choice!

the ladybug is sentimental to me, so i'd say it's my favorite. i typically carry the hawkbill ladybug salt.

i also really enjoy the frn squarehead because it makes a great spyderco worry stone. and it's stupid sharp.
now that i have a roadie, i need to add it to this list. it's a great little knife.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.
