Re: Byrd Knives?
They have good quality. They are high quality for the price.
I've never had a Wings in G-10.
The only negative I know of is that 8Cr13MoV is likely to rust if you don't keep it clean/dry and the edge retention isn't "super steel" grade.

I think the Tenacious and Persistent are very decent quality budget knives. I have had no complaints with my Tenacious at all. I can get it super sharp although it needs touch ups fairly often. The G10 is great lockup is perfect centered blade. For the price there's not alot out there that can match it. Although a Kershaw Skyline is close in there for the same price range and a lighter knife with a flipper design, supper sharp hollow ground if you like hollow.

Hi Olashi,
Welcome to our forum.
I agree. There is little that can match our budget lines.

Re: Byrd Knives?
The Byrds are cool and I really want to get a couple to add to my Sal Glesser collection. What I like most about them is that they're unique from Spyderco's main line offerings. Unlike quite a few companies that simply rehash more expensive designs with cheaper materials and lower quality standards for their budget knives (not saying that is a bad thing, it's actually kind of cool), Spyderco goes the extra mile and designs great models for its budget line. The Byrd line also hosts many different variations. The new Efficient in OD Green and black also looks amazing. The Tenacious is revered (haven't yet been able to own one). The Cat is very very cool. And the Polestar is great. The 8cr is passable and honestly good for a worker that you'd be touching up often anyway. The BD1 is even better

The Byrds are so overlooked and not talked about enough!
to me they represent the true gems of the knife world,
and they've kept changing and innovating for years and still the bet performers for your dollar in the modern folding knife diversity, and their 8Cr has the better properties I have seen on any brand :)

Can't beat the Cara Cara for $20, it's an insanely good deal on a superb design.

They have a slight resemblance to Kunai Uzumaki Anime Manga Throwing Knives https://swordsswords.com/kunai-uzumaki- ... nives.html. Isn't it?ThePeacent wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:18 amThe Byrds are so overlooked and not talked about enough!

Re: Byrd Knives?
Doe anyone know what size the clip screws are on the Cara Cara 2. Specifically metric or standard, and thread pitch. I am attempting to do a small customization so I need to find replacement clip screws that are a little longer ( like 2mm ) than the standard ones

Re: Byrd Knives?
sal, if a person wanted to use a Byrd for basic whittling of wood as an art project, instead of normal wood-carving tools or knives, which one would you likely recommend?
