What is this NW Safari Erik Remmen knife?

#1

Post by Questiongravy »

I found this at a pawn shop in a military town. I can’t figure out the model but the price for a Seki-City Spyderco seemed good. It had an engravement that looked proffessional but I considered grinding it off until I read of this Rekken and his North West Safari class?? I’m confused and can’t identify the knife; please help

It keeps telling me the jpeg is too large; trying to do this from work on iPhone if you’ll tell me how to post them I’d love too. It’s gray metal one size rubberized, clip rubberized, talon or karambit style blade but not serrated. Has small hole for lanyard; blade g2 stainless, rubberized clip has patent 4347665 says others pending.

The picture came out blurrier than was taken. The engraving is professional but not factory. Is this really something from Remmen?

Yes it does look like those with the plain edges. Are these valuable/rare and does the N.W. marking make it any more desirable? Thank y’all some much

I remember the old magazine ads from the early 90’s. A beardy and sunglasses wear Remmen was attacking a fit woman. She usually was countering to his forearm with an Endura if memory serves.

Hi Questiongravy,

Welcome to our forum.

The knife is an early Tuffram Civilian plain edge, quite rare. Eric Remmen was the first trainer to teach knife defense with a Spyderco. He used Delica's that were dulled (by us here in Golden) to teach his classes. He was very good. I usually see him at the Eugene show. He has a table there, and a whole lot of history, great stories.
