Got My New JOB

#1

Post by xceptnl »

I have been out of work for a few weeks and though I have enjoyed the time with my kids and on the forums, I have been sweating the money (or lack of income). Today I had a successful interview and start my new job as a Tire Test Engineer on Monday. Luckily this means a change in my schedule allowing me more time for hobbies as well as a pay raise from my previous job. Looks like I will be picking up a few new 2017 Spydies after all. Thank you for those who had me in their thoughts and prayers.

Right on Landon, that must be a huge relief. Sounds like you got a better deal all the way around.

I'm happy for you Landon! Hopefully it will afford you more stability and time with the loved ones. For sure nothing is more important than family and sometimes you have to rearrange things to make it work but it usually works out in the long run when making the right decisions. Funny how that works but it has always for me anyways.

Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes. And yes Joe, it is funny how things work out. I have relied on my faith and it has brought me this far in life.

Congrats! :)

It's a shame we have to work and I sure wish I didn't but I reckon working has to be better than sitting on the beach wishing you were working! ;)

Congrats xceptnl, I hope everything works out for you. :)

I also start a new job on Monday, teaching at the local community college. I'm getting a little anxious since I'm still working the Summer job that I took last Spring and I haven't had much time to prepare. I know everything will be much better once things get going and I get settled in. Tomorrow I have some meetings and training that should also help. :) :spyder:

Congrats Landon,
Very happy for you and your family. I had to change my job recently as well. It wasn't lay-off, but I could see that it is coming. Much less money in my case, but much better environment and much better boss.
Good luck with your new job.
What tires will you be testing?

congrats sir!
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.
