Hello all I bought a Spyderco knife

#1

Post by Markclark »

Hello,
I finally purchased my first Spyderco knife. I bought the knife just outside of our town. It is used but beyond that i know nothing about it. I knew it was a spyderco when looking at the pictures in the ad as it had the hole.

Can someone tell me if its fairly new or old, if it has a model name and steel type? I love the ease of pushing the blade open, its so smooth and the clip is handy for clipping as opposed to inside the bottom of a pocket. It did come with a homemade seat belt material case with velcro for storing.

Being used to small folders older I feel thrilled to finally get a modern knife.

Regards,
Mark

Welcome to the the forums!

That looks like the C05 spyderco economy. It was produced from 1984 to 1994 and the steel is AUS6 I believe

Thank you all very much for welcoming me and for the information on the knife. I didnt realize it was as old as it was. It sits on my hip now and i will use it daily.
I see some of the knives have screws so the clip can be removed this one i dont think i have that option but its no big deal.

The clip on your knife is what makes it so recognizable as an Economy. It is stamped directly from the handle instead of being screwed to the handle like most Spydercos.

BTW, Welcome to the forum.
