Just curious, did you apply anything to the tang before installing the scales?

This.

I so need a mule in my collection.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

It's been a while since I made a set of Mule scales, as I wanted to get a drill press to help keep the holes straight. My drill press arrived the other week and I decided to make a set using black ash burl (stabilized blue) and carbon fiber, with white G-10 liners. I've never worked with carbon fiber before and was surprised by how easy it was to cut, grind, and finish. I did take extra precautions to keep the dust off me. I always use a respirator, but also started using a fan that blew the dust away from me as I was sanding so that it didn't get on my skin either. That seemed to have done the trick, as I didn't experience any itchiness from CF dust. I used my MT05 as a template, so sanded it flush on that knife. On my MT20, however, the scales are slightly undersized so the knife is slightly proud from the scales. I think this is similar to how the Halpern Ti handles tend to fit.

Here they are on my Mule Team 20.
