My first two Spydies - a pair of Embassy autos...

#1

Post by JohnnyGeek »

I originally purchased two of these discontinued Embassy autos (the last two the retailer had) - thinking I'd keep one and sell one. Then when they arrived, one was grey and one was silver. I can't choose - so (obviously) I have to keep them both. :D

Haha! Yes, it appears you have the first stages of Spydie-addiction. ;) Say goodbye to your surplus cash and hang on for dear life! :D

Quintuple crippling jealousy that the OP lives somewhere sensible that allows autos, managed to score 2 disco'd spydies.

Sorry ;)

Congrats on the find! That was a heck of a score! I agree, you need both, you don't want to split up a family. ;)

Those are one of the first autos I've considered owning, except you need a concealed carry permit to legally carry one here. I really wish Spyderco would make a non auto version of this exact same knife, same handle and blade shape, just with a larger thumb hole and G10. I love everything else about it especially that blade.

I agree Evil - not that I don't appreciate that they're auto, but it'd be great to see the Embassy in a non-auto model. They're so pretty and perfectly made, I'd bet a non-"restricted" version would sell like gangbusters.

I didn't know this auto model. It's a very good looking knife. Here in Spain, autos are restricted knives.
Enjoy them.
Regards.

Not legal to carry here in California either, but ok to own/collect, so when I saw them at the brick and Mortar store, I had to get them...didn't know they'd been discontinued until I got home and looked them up...I got his last Citadel, he still had a couple Embassy's last week when I raided him for a GB, Dyad, and Manix 2 s110v.
