What's the HRC on the top one? Looks like the one with the updated stronger tip? :) :p

Here's my latest Spyderscore:

another to show more of the thickness of handle:

I like it so far, but I can tell it will be a destroyer of pockets, so it's off limits in khakis and dress pants!
...makes me wonder what a PPT would feel & look like with smoothed scales?

Hey Dane, how'd your Sis like the Squeak? You get a chance to mess around with that Sharpmaker yet?

This beauty came in today...
I love the Manix and it was about time I got it's bigger brother the XL :p
To make up for the delay in purchasing it a while back, I decided to pick this one up with custom scales :D
Came with the original scales, but I think I'll keep these on no matter what!

I wish I could... :o
The person I bought it from got it in a trade a while ago and he has no idea what type of wood it is. He and I both think it's from Cuscadi, so it might pay off to ask them or perhaps post it in general discussion to see if there is a wood connoisseur among us :p

I love the way they look and I can't believe I didn't buy an Xl sooner! But it would be nice to know what type of wood it is at the very least.

I'm certainly no wood expert, but your scales look like they might be made from desert ironwood. It's pretty popular stuff for handle materials with custom knifemakers.

Desert ironwood was something that came to mind, but comparing it to the sage 4 in ironwood didn't make it look similar enough to convince me... Wood will never look the same twice ofcourse, but this looks so much darker... This was by far the lightest I could get it on a picture. But I think I'm gonna have to keep it at Desert Ironwood for now, still 90% sure it is Ironwood. Can't think of any other wood with these patterns and the tigers eye looking glow to the wood.

Ordered my first Spyderco knife...delivered today. Unboxed the knife and this is what I see. Thinking about returning for a blade that's not marred...if there are going to be marks I prefer to make them. Has anyone else seen this?

Ted (philipsted) would probably be the closest we have to a wood connoisseur here. :D

Agreed with the other responses. Not right at all. Definitely used, as there's no way that would have passed QC and I find it hard to imagine something that bad slipping through. Send it back.

This is most definately NOT a new knife. There is no way in **** this would ever pass through the factory unnoticed... I would send it back asap. I'm glad to see you posted this and askes about it instead of losing your marbles and hating Spyderco instantly. I'm sure you'll get yourself a brand new one! ;)

And a Delica is a great way to start it off :D

Picked up this Yang kitchen knife for a reasonable price. No box, but the knife is perfect. It weighs a lot less than I would have expected for a wood handled knife of this size.

Still high on my to-buy list. Nice addition to any kitchen and the best looking and possibly performing allround spydie kitchen knife :D

This one belongs in a few threads, as it is my newest Spydie (and then of course "Spydie and meat" as well as "What's in my pocket")

Love the classy Delica, can't wait to get the matching Endura!
