Fictional but interesting knife ideas

#1

Post by SpyderEdgeForever »

Here are some interesting but presently, as far as I know, fictional knife ideas for you all to ruminate over:

1 Variable Mass Knife. This knife is made in such a way that the mass of the blade and handle are variable, they can be changed, to be less or greater, and that allows the knife user to do things with it that ordinarilly would not be doable. For example: The mass can be shrunk down to a pin size or less and you can hide the knife behind your ear, and then when needed you can whip it out and cause it to increase in mass again to the size of a normal knife, or even a sword.

2 Strong Force Blade. This knife makes use of the Strong Nuclear Force, the force that holds the atomic nucleus together. Normally this force functions only with the femtometer range of the protons and neutrons, and is responsible for holding the nucleus together. It is also called gluons in the world of particle physics. The difference is, in this blade, the strong force is manifested at the macroscopic level so that this knife is like a giant atomic nucleus and is billions of times stronger and harder than normal materials.

3 Shape-Blade. This is a knife that has mutable shape changing ability; you can go from plain edge to serrated edge or single edge to double edge at the touch of a button, and all sorts of patterns and shapes can be programmed into it.

4 Assembler Knife. This is a knife that uses either advanced nanotechnology or subatomic technology to be able to assemble matter that it touches and disassemble matter that it touches.

A variation on that is the "Healer Knife", which can heal damaged cells as well as cut.

Please feel free to think of other fictional knives that would be useful, and add to what was said above.
