I'm speechless.
Same here. That defense was incredible last night. Hitting HARD...Had Gregory not had those stupid penalties I believe the Saints would have been shut out?? Or at least held to only 3.
Absolutely. Best defensive game I've seen all year.

Possible GAME CHANGER

#102

Post by JD Spydo »

The Kansas City Chiefs just released Kareem Hunt their star running back :( This could be a major game changer for the Chiefs. I can't be mad at the KC Chiefs because I really think they did the right thing>> nor can I feel sorry for Kareem Hunt after learning of what he did. What an idiot!! He apparently beat up a woman in a Hotel. However the local news media said that wasn't the reason the Chiefs released him>> it was because when the Chiefs front office questioned him about the incident he then absolutely lied about it

However I don't think the story is over for Kareem Hunt>> I'm sure that some team like Oakland or another team with a terrible win/loss record will probably sign him before the weekend is over. Apparently a lot of the sports media here in KC is saying that it is "Ray Rice" all over again

It will be interesting to see how it affects the Chiefs this Sunday. I've heard that Coach Reid isn't talking to the news media yet. We don't have a great deal of depth at that position other than Spencer Ware. And I have no idea what we have in the practice squad or who else might be available to fill his position.

I hope it doesn't ruin the Chief's chances but again this could be a major GAME CHANGER :(

Well The Chiefs win in spite of losing Kareem Hunt and Mike McCarthy got axed from Green Bay >> I sorted predicted this but I thought for sure it would have been at the end of the season when they would give Mike the boot. But for them to lose at Lambeau Field and to the Arizona Cardinals of all teams he pretty much speeded up the process>> Yeah that was a cardinal sin for the Green Bay Fans :( . I don't think it was all McCarthy's fault because that team's chemistry has been out of whack for at least the past two years now. And when you got a QB like Aaron Rodgers you've just got to do better than that. Also when they released Jordy Nelson to Oakland I really felt that there was something very bad internally going on at Green Bay :(

It's been another interesting day on the gridiron and the Pittsburgh vs L.A. Chargers game should be a thriller later this evening. It's going to be very interesting to see who Green Bay replaces McCarthy with. I doubt seriously if this OC, Interim coach is going to get it. Time will tell.

Yet, it's just amazing that Marvin Lewis is still a head coach.
Lol, the owner of the Bengals must really love him...

OH don't even get me started on Marvin Lewis  If I would have been in the Bengal's front office Mr. Lewis would have taken a hike all the way back when Coach Dick Vermeil retired from the Chiefs ( I think it was 2004). And I'm not saying that Marvin Lewis wouldn't be good in some capacity but he is most definitely not an ideal head coach. I thought that the Chad Johnson ordeal should have gotten anyone fired

Unless Jason Garrett runs the table and goes to the big dance I look for his head to roll at season's end>> because I truly believe a Superbowl victory is the only thing that can save him at this point. Dallas has improved and I do predict them to win their division. But they haven't been a post season threat since Troy Aikman was QB  Garrett is another one that should have been shown the door long ago especially with the awesome talent they've had in the past 10 years  . Because McCarthy is a lot better coach than Garrett will ever be and look how secure his job was  I'll leave you all those issues to ponder on. I am going to watch this Sunday Night game with Pittsburgh vs L.A. Chargers >> The KC sports radio shows are literally crucifying the Chief's defense in spite of their season record>> and I agree with them ;)

I can't believe the Cheifs let the Raiders hang around all day today. I was thinking about you JD!! Glad they pulled it off.

Packers...what a disappointment. I think Rodgers has the power of LeBron James. What he says or wants, will happen. Play calling had been abysmal with the Packers all season long. Yes, lots of injuries on the offensive line and missing Rodgers security blanket in Jordy Nelson made a huge difference. But they just weren't the same. Really showed today.

Yeah I was really surprised. We play the Chargers here at Arrowhead in two weeks. You guys ought to hear the local radio shows on Kareem Hunt's dismissal

Yeah I was really hoping that we would get another loss for the Chargers to widen the gap. Well today the Chiefs are going to interview two possible replacements for Hunt.

I knew in my gut that poor Mike McCarthy was on borrowed time. Football is literally like a religion up at Lambeau Field. Somebody will grab him.

Loosing Hunt will hurt yall. Maybe not a lot, but it will to some degree. And, that's not good. Who do yall have on the depth chart? Yall could get lucky like Pittsburgh and have one like James Connors. They didnt really miss Leveon Bell all that much. Or, did they? :)

Brother you don't have to tell me that!!! Because everywhere I was running errands today I was hearing Chief's fans and they are all mad as **** at him and even the women I've been chatting with are using extremely foul language describing Mr. Kareem Hunt's stupidity  Talk about having the winning lottery ticket and like a second rate moron he just flushes it down the toilet. I believe if we would have had Mr. Hunt's services yesterday we would have beaten Oakland by at least 20 points or better. Spencer Ware is a good guy and a decent RB but he's pretty much just a short yardage specialist. He can't replace Kareem Hunt and there are only two other backs in the league that I think could come close. Kareem Hunt could have been another Walter Peyton if he would have played his cards right>> what an idiot!!

And Andy Reid loved him and Tyreek Hill both and really helped both of those guys adjust to the NFL>> and Tyreek Hill has grown up a little bit. I'll put it this way if we don't run the table and win all the remaining games were are going to be extremely vulnerable IMO. That was the last thing we needed. Even if they let him back into the league I hope the Chiefs never take him back. They got rid of Marcus Peters and that hurt us really bad at that position. But he was poison in the locker room and he was a troublemaker

Oh yeah that Leveon Bell situation is just plain nuts  The Rooney family would have taken very good care of him had he been a team player. But to me he's like another version of "T. O." (Terrell Owens). I do believe the man is so arrogant that he believes the sun rises out of the east every morning for no other reason than to shed light on him.>> Yes!! I do believe the man is that arrogant. The Rooney family has been very good for many years to properly reward their great players and they would have treated him great. He is truly a case of a highly concentrated form of arrogance. Many of these guys have no perception of how great they have it in professional sports and what a gold mine it is if you have a team spirit and the right attitude. Look what those virtues did for Kurt Warner>> I rest my case. I would not want Bell on the Chiefs team at all.

I think yall will be in fine shape actually. Heck, the Eagles lost their starting QB, and still won it all. Andy Reid should be able to come up with something.....

Well as we speak the Chiefs are interviewing and testing the abilities of one of their previous Runningbacks and that is Charkandrick West. Now he was slightly above average and he seemed to be improving as time went by but for some reason he just didn't pan out for Andy Reid's plan. West went to the Jets and they released him. Other than that rundown I don't know the particulars of why he can't stay with a team. But the fans seemed to like Charkandrick West. The other RB ( Anderson) they are interviewing which is a former Denver RB. And why Mr. Anderson was released by Denver I never got the straight scoop on that one. But apparently other than those two guys they don't seem to have a lot to choose from.

Neither of them can compare to Kareem Hunt. We might just end up with a Running Back by committee type set up. Unless Anderson has some super talent that I'm not aware of I'm quite sure Mr. West will be back in our line up again. But Spencer Ware isn't a dog by any means and he has scored some clutch TDs. But again he's kind of a short yardage specialist and it's a job he does well and he's also a good blocker too.

Also I think Hunt's absence this past Sunday most definitely affected Patrick Mahomes in a negative way and everyone noticed it. But in spite of that I commend him keeping his head and ultimately winning the game which should have been a blow-out with all the problems Oakland is having. We better hope that Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce along with most of our talented wide receivers stay healthy because we sure can't afford any more of these types of problems. Why they didn't address this or at least put him on the hot seat before the season began is just beyond me. Many people were aware of the incident but yet no one wanted to bring it to the table.

Oh I do predict we'll beat the Baltimore Ravens here at Arrowhead stadium this coming Sunday. Arrowhead Stadium in a place where most of our opponents really hate to play at :D If any of you reading this ever go to ARROWHEAD stadium I suggest you get some serious hearing protection :D

Well it's official>> the Chiefs got Charcandrick West to replace the disgraced Kareem Hunt. With no more options than what we had I'm really good with the decision because he knows Andy Reid's overall plan and I think he also gets along really well with everyone on the Chief's roster AFAIK. I heard that he's kept himself in good physical shape while being un-employed.
Maybe this "running back by committee" might not be such a bad thing. Well if we can beat Baltimore this coming Sunday we should be in great shape for taking on the L.A,. Chargers next Thursday Night. These next two upcoming games are probably the two most important games the Chiefs have had all season long.
But if we don't get Eric Berry back before the playoffs we might be in some serious trouble for the Post-Season.

Dallas continues to be a surprise on the upside and Pittsburgh really laid an egg last Sunday night against the Chargers  . This coming Sunday could determine the fate of the 4 sleeper teams I've seen rise up in the past 3 weeks. But Dallas is just going to have to run the table before I totally believe in them. If they don't then coach Jason Garrett needs to be shown the door IMO.

I hear ya JD. I think it's good too. Loosing Hunt will be a difference. But, not a game changer I don't think. Mahomes has everyone on thier heels so to speak. More importantly like you pointed out, West is familiar with the Chiefs offense.
I think getting Eric Berry back anytime will just be icing on the cake. Its gonna be a very fun, interesting playoffs in both the AFC and NFC this year.
P.S., I remember Eric Berry so very well. His days at UT were incredibly good. He is a real Pro....

Well my good buddy MacLaren asked me on another thread if I was ready for this upcoming Sunday ( 12-09-18) for the game between the Chiefs and Ravens>> yeah I am but I'm really holding my breath after listening to Cris Carter and a couple of the other sports gurus last night. That new QB that the Ravens has is very competent and I don't consider them a pushover by any means. They are on a 3 game winning streak but we do have the advantage of playing them here at ARROWHEAD stadium. The fans are really getting super hyped for this game and I wouldn't doubt if they don't break another Guiness Book Of World Records sound/noise level>> I hope the boys from Baltimore remember their hearing protection :D

If we can beat the RAVENS and the Chargers in the next 5 days we should be in the driver's seat. This is our biggest objective at this point>> but I'm optimistic that getting Charcandrick West back is going to pay a big dividend. The reports I've heard say that he is in great condition and very much ready to play. Most every key player with the possible exception of Eric Berry is pretty much healthy. If they can steamroll the Ravens tomorrow then I don't see a big problem with the Chargers on the upcoming Thursday Night game. I'm far more uncertain of the RAVENS tomorrow than I am with the Chargers game.

Even if Baltimore were to pull off a miracle and win the game at ARROWHEAD tomorrow it will not be enjoyable for them I can assure you. I would not want to be them coming to ARROWHEAD tomorrow because I believe the fans will be ravenous

Yes. Jackson is doing well. But, he is no Patty Mahomes :)
I think if memory serves, that Lamar ( Jackson ) won the Heisman year before last. I think that may be rocket fuel for Patty :D
I also think that Patty and Lamar were in the same graduating year. I believe both to be in thier 2nd year in the N.F.L.
At any rate, I feel pretty confident that the Chiefs will take care of business. Although, Tyrell Suggs can be dominant when he wants to be....

Baltimore has had the reputation of being a defensive monster for quite a few years now. But with Ed Reed and Ray Lewis both now in the history books they aren't the defense they used to be. I just hope that the Chiefs don't take them for granted. If I was a betting man I would take the chiefs by 9 points. But if the Chiefs defensive coordinator ( Sutton) hasn't made some serious adjustments this week since that sloppy Oakland game then we might be in for some trouble. If we can get over that mountain I really don't see any team stopping us for the remainder of the year.

A lot of people think that the 2000-2001 Baltimore Ravens were second only to the 1985 Chicago Bears as far as being a defense machine. And I think that's accurate. I doubt we ever see a defense like those 85 Bears anytime soon.

Well it wasn't pretty but we'll take it anyway :o The Chiefs came from behind, tied the game, then won in overtime. I had already had my "crow" out thawing. I was all but certain I was going to have to eat a big portion of crow today for sure but Justin Houston ( GOD love him  ) truly upset The Raven's game plan and paved the way for us to put another one in the win column.

But I'm not going to get too over confident yet because we have the L.A. Chargers coming to ARROWHEAD this coming Thursday night ( 12-13-18) and they have a lot to play for.

It was so wonderful to hear that Lord Brady & Company lost to the Miami Dolfins :) And with their big game with Pittsburgh coming up that could really create a lot of uncertainty in that division. And Pittsburgh seems to be improving as the season progresses.

Yeah I agree with you MacLaren that Baker Mayfield is a future talent for sure. But also this Lamar Jackson of the RAVENS flat out had me scared before the Chiefs pulled out a literal miracle. And I guarantee you that Alex Smith would not have pulled this game out. And as I predicted the Redskins are falling apart since Alex Smith got injured for the year. I do believe Dallas has that division sowed up.

Anyway it's been quite interesting thus far today. Anytime Lord Brady gets what he deserves it puts me in a very content mood :D :D But I'm in no way counting him out yet either>> but every loss they can hand him just makes me that much happier.

Wow. Never would have I thought that the Ravens would have forced the Chiefs into O.T. good win!!
If the Chiefs can run the table they should have home field advantage throughout the playoffs!
That's HUGE.
Winning in Foxboro in January is dam near impossible.
