What real world knife does this resemble?
What real world knife does this image resemble? Also, aside from the "roughness" of the outline, would that basic design be a useful blade? The Spear Point and Spear Shaped Ovalular handle with one-piece cross-guard/hilt? A Double-Edged Spear-Point Scandi Grind.

It looks fairly reminiscent of the Fairbairn/Applegate fighter to me. It appears it would be useful in military/special ops applications IMHO.

Yep. Fairbairn/Applegate fighter. This is the BLACKHAWK! version, designed for British SF.
A sharp knife is a pleasure to carry. Five or six sharp knives are an even greater pleasure.

Very cool, thanks. I like the full-tang aspect of that one.

First thing that came to mind for me was the Gerber (eventually called the Mark I to distinguish it from later Marks) that I took to Vietnam in 1968. But this dagger is a much older pattern, I do believe.

I believe it was the one Robin Williams carried in the movie Peter Pan.

Oh man! Maybe we could get Spyderco to make a Fairbairn/Applegate fighter with a coconut guard!DRKBC wrote:I believe it was the one Robin Williams carried in the movie Peter Pan.
