Anyone else obsessed with Reubens like I am? I don't know what it is, I'm not overly fond of any individual item on a corned beef Reuben but mix them together and it just works. I try every Reuben I come across at places that make them.

Would you say that as a sandwich material Spam has increased in quality and taste from the past or it is basically the same? I noticed now they have Spam based Turkey for people who want that.

Two words.....Katzs' Deli

I'm a sucker for a great Reuben also. Made from scratch on home baked bread is amazing.

I had to go there for a bite when I visited NYC (all the way from Australia) in June

Visited Katz's a few times when my team was developing new software for our NYC office. Never tried their Reuben though, stuck with the pastrami as theirs was (and still is) the best I've ever tasted.

The best I've found so far is Kretchsmar Off the Bone Honey Ham and Duke's mayo. Very tasty
I prefer Kretchsmar 2-1 over Boars Head. Boars Head is 11-12 dollars a pound, and Kretschmar 7.99 pound.

A sandwich is not complete without cheese. I'm serious. No, really.

Just yesterday had a delicious sandwich with provolone and cotswald cheese with roast beef and salami on wheat bread. This was fun thread to start!

You know what is good on a hamburger sandwich? A-1 Sauce. Heinz 57 is okay, too.

Yes, also my favorite sandwich! When I lived in Charlotte there was a sports bar named the Sports Page, I still rate or compare every Reuben that I eat elsewhere to their Reuben.

Well, I still enjoy a liverwurst and onion sandwich on black bread every now and then, but I'm already old. :D It's not my favorite, and definitely not something I'd want to eat a couple times a week, but it's great once in a blue moon.
