I don't think I've uploaded a single pic though, I use it mostly to follow bands.

Blerv here.

As for tips I #hashtag things I post based on popularity of the tag and relevance.

If you want to get someone's attention in a post or reply use the @ and their name. Eg: check it out @Blerv

Other than that I can't help much. My photos are awful and the filters only take the edge off :p. Explore around and if you like someone's page feel free to follow them and they might follow back. If your's is private they prob won't reciprocate though unless they know you.

Have fun!

I'm on there. @knivesinedc. Best tips I can give you are be friendly and respectful to the other knife guys, which I'm sure you'll have no problem at all with, and post pics of cool blades. Hashtags get you a lot of likes usually and can help people find you. Feel free to buy, sell and trade on there too. I do it quite often.

Thx everyone I've added you all, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are going to have to wait for my attention, lol.

So if I understand this right, if I want to post a pic that I think Blerv might be interested in I'll just add: @Blerv to my pic, to make sure he see's it? And if I post a pic of a new Spydie I'd add for example: #Spyderco, #pocketknife, #edc etc?

I post mostly knife pics but every once in a while I throw in pics of my kids or dog.

The thing I like most about Instagram is that you can see what custom knife makers are up to.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

For more of my pictures see my Instagram account.

I am on Instagram @scottgabrielli as a photography enthusiast, not a knife guy. I have a few tips how to improve your "success."
Tip 1 - Remember it is social media, like a lot of photos and comment on ones that interest you. Community engagement is key. Also I would try to avoid following too many people in the beginning. Post photos and like a ton of other people's photos. If you get a follow and like their photos, then follow back.
Tip 2- Curate your photos, Try to keep your photos limited to a singular/few theme(s). I have a friend who only post pictures of his cigars
Tip 3 - Take the time to find videos on how to improve your photography. There are many great photography educators on youtube that have catalogues of videos dedicated to photography instruction. While some may reference gear, (assuming you're a cell phone photographer) focus on finding/introducing light and composition

Thanks guys, I'm mostly interested in what's going on in the knife community like LC, posting a few pics, seeing what all you guys are carrying and hopefully getting to know you all better :)

@Scott - You have some great photo's, hope you'll find some room for a Spydie or two :)

I'm on the 'gram as well. You can find me @thestuntzombie. I don't post a lot of knife pics on there, I actually haven't been posting much at all lately. I need to change that.

I've got an instagram feed now: JonathanLopez1978

It's full o' Spydercos and nowt else :)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I am rather illiterate when it comes to social media, but I have heard of this Instagram thing. I'll have to check into this.
