My newest CD is a recording of Kris Kristofferson in Austin. I think it is part of the Austin City Limits series, on CD. It is in my truck, so not handy at the moment, to be sure. (I almost never listen to music inside the home, preferring as much quiet as possible.)

Funny that this older thread would pop up today because one of our local radio stations was doing a top 300 Rock tunes of all time this Labor Day weekend and this morning got off to a great start. I even stood and almost cried when I heard them play "Piece Of My Heart" by Janis Joplin when she was still with Big Brother & the Holding Co.

They also played one of my all time favorite Dutch bands GOLDEN EARING with "Radar Love". Those two tunes really got my day off to a great start.

Not to mention when I got back home from running my errands they played Jimi Hendrix "The Wind Cries Mary". I really had the priviledge of growing up during the Greatest Era in music.

Oh there was one other tune they played today for all you old hippie type guys & gals  If you can remember hard enough there was an old San Francisco band called "ITs A BEAUTIFUL DAY" ( what a name for a rock group  ) and they played their great classic entitled "WHITE BIRD"

And do any of you guys & gals remember ROXY MUSIC  One of my all time favorite bands>> I bet you British guys know who I'm talking about ;)

This again...I can only go so long without feeling the need to listen to this, or better yet to watch the music video. It amuses me.

What's your favourite song by them? My father is (And has been for a long time) VERY obsessed with the song Chicken Train. I like the song, but I like a few of their other songs more. I'm stuck with a 3 way tie for my favourite between Homemade Wine, Walkin' Down The Road, and Standing On The Rock.

Also been listening to the new album (9 days old) by The Turnpike Troubadours. Very good album...I've had the pleasure of seeing them perform live and they're excellent.

Some of this

And this

And some of this but I won't embed it because the album art is not very "family friendly" LOL. But, if you like heavy music at all, this is one of the best albums I've heard in years and I don't know how I missed it. Unfortunately this band is long gone and broke up years ago.

More Tommy Emmanuel...he has a new album out as of almost 2 weeks ago. I don't know of a better guitar player anywhere on this Earth. I've said it before and I'll say it again...if you ever have a chance to go see him live, for the love of god do it. He tells stories about what inspired him to write his songs and he's very personable with the audience, and more than anything he's incredibly humble and genuine. I don't have enough good things to say about him.

From his new album.
