Then all the folks that were not aware of this one or put it off over the past 4+ months will show up and be up in arms. LOL LOL
Its always the same.........

Then some folks will drop out when they show up and there will be a few left for those paying attention.
(If they get on the back up list that is)

How many of you will actually use this knife? Are most of you buying for a safe queen collector?

I agree...I bet 50% will be safe queens, traded or sold. Not sure which of these categories my 2nd one will fall into yet. Probably will just be a backup.

I had ordered my first one back mid-September, but I just ordered a 2nd one just to be sure! Most likely will carry one, keep the second one "nice" but not necessarily a safe-queen, just a "pre-need replacement" :D . I can't see spending that much money on a knife and *not* enjoying carrying it at least some of the time!

Now the Para-2 CF S90v that one shop carries for $350, that I'm not so sure about!
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

That will probably be what these M390 CF Millies end up going for down the road a bit.

I've seen $400-450 on them recently. $350 is a decent price to be able to stock as inventory. Too rich for me, but that's why I buy early and decide later what I'm keeping and what I'm shedding. This may be a keeper based on recent reports on that steel. I was apprehensive, but decided to go for it just recently.

Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken but I'm fairly sure that these M390 Millies were dealer exclusive, not distributer exclusive...meaning that Knifeworks is the only seller that gets these knives.

Having said that perhaps there's a chance that Sypderco is sending out other M390 Millies with scales other than the peel-ply CF that Knifeworks is getting their hands on.

one more thought...several months ago Jim began insisting that he will no longer allow pre-orders on knives. Just about when he posted the Fluted Ti Native 5, and then promptly withdrew it from the website

Howes gets CC# knives, so it could be he is pre-selling the couple he might be getting from KW. I don't recall if dealer commissioned sprints count as part of the CC however. If not, maybe Howe's is doing their own M390 Millie sprint.

On the topic of him taking pre-orders, then emphatically saying he won't, it looks like he had a change of heart again. In fact, he is going to be opening a new section dedicated to pre-orders.

I'm happy that he decided to not let the few bad apple's that never followed through on their orders spoil it for the rest of us. Now I wonder if he had kept me on the list for that TiF Native that I asked for just before it temporarily went offline.

I plan on and will use mine. I try not to think about it though. One random day, we'll all get our preorder notice and be happy as a clam.
