BIG catalog

Post by jackknifeh »

Just got my new Spyderco catalog in the mail today. It's a real size catalog. Love it. They're not fooling me though. They're just trying to sell me a knife. :)

I was really busy when I went to the mailbox today. I pulled the package out and saw that it was from Spyderco but didn't open it. I had no idea what it was because I was expecting the smaller size. Anyway, gotta say I like the larger size. We can even frame the pages and hang um. :)

You're right. I got mine late last week. Immediately ordered myself a Gayle Bradley folder and put 4 more on my to-buy list. It is very effective. :D

Got it in today. Very nice. The blade reminds me of a Stretch a little bit which is a good thing, IMO. Heavier than I expected, but feels great in-hand.

The new catalog is beautiful! I really like the format and honestly the older my eyes get, the more I appreciate the bigger pages. While the PDF version is handy, I spend way too much time staring at a computer screen already, so the "real" catalog is a nice change of scenery. Hats off to all who worked on it and I hope it translates into lots of sales for the Spydercrew!

I'll pick one up next time at the SFO.

Nice to see that the catalog seems to be about the same size as the old ones ('90s to early 2000s).

Does the 2015 product guide come with a separate pricelist inside?
Thanks!

And I'd bet my bottom dollar that it's working too.

Yes it does. It's not the same size though. It is a little bigger so when you want to put it inside for easier carrying (to bathroom and back :)) it sticks out a little bit. I'm really upset about this. I think Spyderco should make the catalog bigger. :)

Nope. That was last year. You mean you didn't get your free knife last year? :)

I think a cool gimmick would be for Spyderco to put maybe 5 coupons in random catalogs that are a buy one get another (same or lesser value) knife free. Whoever gets that catalog gets the coupon. You know. Just like Willy Wonka did. :) Might be a lot of trouble making sure one person didn't order 10,000 catalogs. :) I have mistakenly ordered two of the same catalog before. Wonder if there is some law against me leaving one in the waiting room at a doctor's office. I'd rather see one of those instead of what is usually in waiting rooms. Once in a while I'll come across a Field & Stream. But I have wondered if anti-hunting people complain about that.

That is a great idea! My dokter only haves those boring women magazines :( If you open such a thing you feel sicker then you already are. :D A spydie catalog on the other hand would get me to relax during the waiting period :p

Thank you Jack! You have to know that what catalog concerns we Europeans have to be patient ... last years it took about 3-4 months each IIRC. Maybe it's easier I visit your bathroom :D
