New Orange Dodo

#1

Post by MacLaren »

She arrived this a.m., - A most welcome edition to my Spydie Family. Ive never had a Dodo before, much less held one in person. What a pleasant surprise! Easily one of my favorite Spydies! The Ergo's are just magnificent. Fits like a glove. Flawless opening and closing. Centered. I can only say, I wish I had gotten a Dodo long before now. I will soon be on the hunt for the CF edition. I will also say this is probably the very best Golden Spydie Ive owned. Fit and Finish were executed like that of my Taichung models. Or, at least I think so :) Oh well, lets get on to the pics then shall we?

Nicely done! :) This confirms to me that if anything, the next Forum Knife needs to be a Dodo!

I'd be down for that. Machined handles? Spydie inlay? SE? Once again not a model I'd look at otherwise, but I'm in for any Forum knife they come up with. I'd even buy a forum Maddox!

Yeah the more I see the dodo the more I like it. I'd certainly pick it up in the future if it gets another sprint.
Current favorite: Manix 2 with carbon fiber scales and cru-ware.

Nice photos! I love my Orange Dodo as well. Been carrying it a lot lately as it's the perfect box cutter for the office environment. Works WAY better than a standard box cutter and doesn't scare the sheeple.

I'd love to see a forum knife or another sprint Dodo in one of the recent super steels. Nothing wrong with S30V, but a steel upgrade would be one thing they've never done on the Dodo that I'm aware of.

Grey G10 CruWear Dodo in PE or SE would be epic. As would K390 in Burgundy, or S110V in Navy Blue.

Moonglow dodo pleeeeease! That would be fantastic. The purple used in previous forum editions as g10 would look nice as well IMO :D

CF Dodo is the "must have". IMHO the knife has the best looking CF I ever saw coming from Golden or Japan.

Do you know that Spyderco made Orange Dodo per request of forum members. spyderHS08 started the thread in February of 2009 and the thread was going for more than 3 years. It has 42 pages, 838 posts and 143659 views. IMHO this is the knife with unique history.

Awesome. And no, I didn't know that.
But, I do remember one forum member stating that " any respectable Spydie affi/collector/fan-whatever lol, should have at least one Dodo" - and I agree! :) ;)

....and a big Thank you to forum members & of course Eric Glesser for the Orange Dodo :)
