Competition looks tough, but I'll throw up this one for the heck of it. :D

This Ti Damascus ("Suminagashi") Delica was supposed to be my Christmas present, bought 3 wks early, but I managed to weasel in another knife too :) The cloth behind it was made using the technique of swirling dyes on the surface of water (ink marbling), similar to the suminagashi art technique which traditionally used just black sumi ink.

Great entries this week, not the Christmas spirit I had in mind, but great and interesting photos regardless. I am a suckerrod for nature shots so all were eyecatching. Donovan and Lee had my favorites.

Very cool to be chosen as the winner of our little unofficial photo contest this week, thanks Landon! Not a tonne of entries this time around, but some great photos none the less! I think the lack of entries must be due to people being busy from the holidays. Maybe this week we will see a bit more? Perhaps a few New Years photos :)

My barely caffeinated brain is trying to picture that... maybe stabbing a Swedish meatball off an hors deouvres* tray :p ...or jabbing at a floating balloon? :D Hey! How about fireworks !!

Congrats, LC and Leeroy37 !! And I concur with Xceptnl about nature photos -- these two were the ones I picked too, though I like all of GS's & BFK's photos, and all the rest were great too this week.

*bet you didn't think we could spell those Franch words sown here, hehe
