Poll for Wayne Goddard sprint

Combination. Something like Cruwear for sure, an adjustable pivot would be cool, and G10 or micarta for the handle material. It's the first backlock design I've seen that I think I'd like. Most of the ones i have used have the locks in the center or the rear of the handle, making closing the knife kind of hard one handed. Carving out a choil between the finger guard and blade would be cool too but I don't know if that could be done without significantly changing the whole knife.

I really want one in the Delica size range, badly. FRN please. Same as the last sprint. Back lock, pinned, linerless, and fabulous.
- best wishes, Jazz.

G10 or Micarta, and sub 3.5" blade - closer to 3" would be better … also please please please make a Plain Edge version.
Steel - VG-10, S30V, something stainless please.
Hit those marks, and I'll take two.

I'm with Jazz. Although I generally prefer larger folders, the recent sprint just didn't click for me. I think a Delica size would work well with this design.

Oh, I forgot to say PLAIN EDGE. I know the Goddards tend to have CE. Can't stand serrations (sorry JD).
- best wishes, Jazz.

3 inch blade, G10 (because Micarta will never happen), super steel (NO VG10 or S30V), and PE. Skip any one of these features and I probably won't get one.

Doesn't matter what flavor it comes in. The design is perfect.

It's a great design and I would love to see another run as long as it is pinned together, linerless(or at least with solid liners) and doesn't have a "super steel" blade. One of the smaller versions would be especially interesting.

PE only. Micarta or G10. Dark green preferred. Black, brown, gray will be acceptable. Original grind. 3.5" or 2.5" blade preferred. 3" would be acceptable. VG10 will be fine.

A plain edged Baby Goddard (1.93" blade) with an unlined handle of Micarta or polished G-10 would be the only knife that would make me consider retiring my Micarta Jester. A plain edged Goddard Jr. (2.81" blade) like that would be one of the few non-choiled 3" class folders that might see pocket time. A plain edged C-16 Goddard (3.63" blade) like that would have a place in my collection.

Despite Sal's general reluctance to using it, Micarta might be an option, at least for the Baby and Junior, since the most recent Sprints of those models have used it.

As for steel, VG-10 would be my preference. I'm pretty certain that, like any other knives made in Japan, the use of non-Japanese blade steel would be highly unlikely and I know that any non-stainless or barely stainless steel, regardless of origin, would be a deal breaker for me.

The last sprint was really well done. My only picky gripe is that in FFG it really seems like a small blade in a big handle. Like a PM2 blade in an FRN Mille handle. Should been hollow ground like the original

Is it, by any chance, the only C16 Goddard you've owned?

I ask because, while FFG does change the look of a knife, and that can alter the perception of relative size, the blades on the FFG/OD FRN Sprint and all of the earlier FRN C16's in my collection are either the exact same length or differ only by the trivial amounts that hand grinding of a drop point blade can be expected to produce.
