It's a great knife for heavy use, especially outdoors.

It's a very large knife that's likely to startle some people depending on where you are using it, though.

I don't think I'd want to have one in a normal office setting (or a city in California), for example.

I am going to go all retro-grouch and say that I prefer the original large Manix from yesteryear. I like the thickness of the handle and it seems more solid around the pivot to me. It seems like a sturdier knife for some reason when working with it, versus the Manix 2 XL.

I don't dislike the XL - I just like the original a lot.

Freakin awesome design. If I had to run out of my burning house and could only grab one spydie, it would be the XL.

I love mine, especially the CF/S90V version. I have so many knives that it doesn't often get carried in the city, but camping, or in the back yard whittling or doing fire prep, it's great.

At first I thought it was the world's best tactical for the money. However I finally decided it was just too big and heard the polymer ball cage was two halves glued together and sold it.

I love mine. I use it as my EDC utitlity knife and carry it on weak side, with Yo 2 as my business knife on the strong side.

Manix 2 XL is a fantastic and sturdy knife, but If You don't play in NBA league You will have a problem with one-hand lock disengaging. Handle is to long to easy block it against hand while squizing BBlock cage... Standard manix 2 is much more comfotable.
