Thanks Landon! I'm holding my breath for the guy or gal that plays a Sage17 or Sage15. Sage Marine http://www.sagemarine.usxceptnl wrote:Now that ^^^ is an epic raise.

I can't be the only one who hopes one day Sal will update with some new prototype or old model that never reached production can I? Sorta like an extreme Casual Bombshell!Peter1960 wrote:First an epic raise and now an epic flash of thought! :p :p :prescueseven wrote:I'm holding my breath for the guy or gal that plays a Sage17 or Sage15.

18 hour rule.
As much as I'd like to play this-
Photo by Sal Glesser. Blatantly stolen from http://www.sagemarine.us" target="_blank
I'm going to play this-
Should be a little easier.
I'll see my Totem, and raise a full size 2009 Product Guide.

So, what is that totem thing anyway?? Am I the only one that has no idea what that is?
Re: I'll see your Spyderco and raise you another!
It was (is?) one of Sal's pet projects from a while back. Here's an old email I have from Sal responding to one of my inquiries about it a long time ago (2004ish?):gbelleh wrote:So, what is that totem thing anyway?? Am I the only one that has no idea what that is?
Thank you for your interest in the Value Totem art pendant. The Value
Totem is about focusing attention on priorities.
The original concept behind the piece was a search for universal order or
priorities. Now the piece is a daily reminder of personal values. The
design employs open areas to represent each value. They have been left open
so they can be filled with your own personal values. The larger the hole,
the greater the value. What are the five most important things in your
life? And in what order?
A personal set of values might be health, family, home, work and friends.
Some might put God first, for others it might be winning or love. As you
travel through a busy life, the totem reminds you of what is important... to
you.
The piece was refined over a 15-year period. It is a novel design that is
both attractive and provides an opportunity for thought provoking
conversation. The original thoughts behind the totem will be explained in
the brochure when produced.
The Value Totem will be produced in small quantities from different
materials. The first Totems will be carved from fossilized walrus tusk,
approximately 30,000 years old. The original Totem was made from this
material. Alaska artist, David Mirabile is carving the pieces.
They will also be crafted in Gold (in Colorado) as well as some exotic
materials (with a stainless frame) like dino bone, carbon fiber, pearl, etc.
These will be crafted by Santa Fe Stoneworks in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The first pieces are scheduled to be available in December of this year. I
will keep you informed, as information is available.
Naturally, I am interested in your desires and suggestions.
Yours very truly,
Sal Glesser

If you do a Google search for images of Sal you will almost always see him wearing a Totem (Gail too). I carry mine with me everyday also, but it is in my pocket (with my wedding ring) since I'm not allowed to wear jewelry at work.

Unfortunately I don't remember where I got those exact pins but that is how they used to be packaged. If I remember right I bought a few from Spyderco like that and also at one time you could order from the company Empire Pewter.
Re: I'll see your Spyderco and raise you another!
Nice raise :) Thx for the info!! These are nice, I must say the packaged pins are also new to me.
