If you had $400, what would you buy?

I think it would be interesting to see what knife/knives from Spyderco they would buy if they had $400. Just your personal opinion and nothing else.

I would get a Reinhold Rhino and a Mamba. I think they'd compliment each other nicely.

It can be as many or as few knives as you want so tell me what you think!

I'd probably buy another K2 for a back up and a szabohawk.

I'd hunt around for a couple more VG-10 FRN Stretches, then spend the rest on custom wood scales for them. :)

I just bought two K2s for $150 each and an original Bradley Folder BNIB for $110. So I guess I "HAD" $410 and that is what I spent it on.

Hmmm. I would probably just go for a WolfSpyder at this time...

And then spend the rest on some flat stock CPM-20CV and carbon fiber. :o

Just bought a KW CF M4 PM2 and a KW 204p Military so there it is.

In the future, the Advocate and Sage5.

I just bought a Nirvana so that's out. Considering the stock at my local store rather than just "the list", I'd get:
Endura HAP40
PM2 S110V
Gayle Bradley 2

If I could talk them down a little on price, I'd probably swap the GB for a Sage 2. If the Sage 5 were out and comparably priced, I'd get one of those. If they had a Caly3 or a HAP40 Stretch, those would be in the mix.

Alternate list:
Endura HAP40
Slysz Bowie
Patrick LaFollette
Current: Dragonfly 2 ZDP-189, Chaparral 1, Techno 1, Delica 4 HAP-40, Dragonfly 2 HAP-40, Mantra 1, Ladybug Salt Hawkbill, Nirvana CPM, Endura 4 HAP-40, Sage 4, Para Military 2 CPM Cru-Wear, Sage 5, Caly3 HAP40, Sliverax, Lil' Nilakka, Chaparral Raffir Noble, Zulu, Manbug HAP40, Meerkat HAP40, Sage 1/Sage 2/Sage 3 CF, Introvert, Techno 2

If you are planning to make Rhinos with CPM-20CV and CF, I am in. Still prefer polished dark green g10, but CF with Dodo finish will be fine :)

Ok, the rules aren't very specific so I am going to play this as if I didn't own any Spdercos and only had $400 to spend.

I would buy:

-Paramilitary 2 $120
-Delica $65
-frn Stretch (off the exchange) $90
-Pacific Salt se $75
-Sharpmaker $60

I think I might have gone over by a few bucks but it's close.

I'm sure you could find someone who could do this mod for you. Honestly it's a great knife. With $400 you could buy the knife and have 250 left for the mod.

You gotta watch the exchange on BF. For some inexplicable reason the GB1s either sell for cheap or move slow on there. I have seen quite a few go for around $110 - $120 on both ebay and the exchange.

HAD $430....

Spent it on:

2015 Forum Native

Caly 3.5 in Super Blue

I know I WAY overpaid on the Caly, but I've been searching for one for around a year now, so I bit on it. The Caly 3 in Super Blue feels amazing in my hand. Can't wait to see the 3.5.

If however, I wasn't amazingly behind the times and could catch some releases when they were new, anything with carbon fiber scales or S90V - who knows, maybe I could get two for around $400?

Love these if you could/had/would type threads.

Just realized I have to cross one of the grails in my sig out! :)
Adam

Currently looking for...Stretch C90PBLE......PM2 C81CFPE2...Custom Dragonfly Scales...and my holy grail, for now-C10PSGRE-Lost it at a shoot when I had to change out a flat tire. Haven't found a replacement.

Shoot straight, stay sharp!

Assuming starting from nothing and with ballpark prices..

A large folder: Military S110V $175
A medium folder: PM2 S110V $150
Easy to carry EDC: Delica VG10 $65

Really there's no need for the higher end steels in the Mil and PM2 but what fun is that?

+1 I got my lightly used (like new) GB1 off the Exchange for $120. My like new but nicely modified GB1 was $105 from a Blade Forums member via Face Book. There are some good deals to be had out there if you keep your eyes peeled.

As far as "if I had $400". I've already spent that a few times over in recent months so I'm about spent out for now. But if I was going to spend another $400 I'd probably add a little to it and buy a Nirvana.
