Re: Anyone own a Pattada? Or have any hands on info?
Very thinly ground and narrows quickly to almost a needle-like tip. Sharp as heck out of the box.
But...
When I first opened the box and the knife, the lock did NOT engage. It sat along the G10 scale unable to pass behind the blade interface. So I opened it forcefully and the lock just barely engaged (literally 1-2%). I opened it very forcefully several more times and the lockbar traveled to 5% or so. I proceeded to then spine whack it several times to flatten the interface and now it sits where you see it now in my pic.
I've encountered this situation before so I knew how to fix it but I bet a lot of folks might open this knife and have similar issues. There may be a rush of these coming into W&R if that is indeed the case. I was disappointed to say the least initially, now that it's rectified, I love the knife.
It is a gentleman's Military.

Nice! Yeah I think I'm gonna like that.Hopefully no issues when mine comes but it sounds fixable. Describe thawcking the spine, please. In case it happens to mine. Thanks.

My Pattada arrived about an hour ago, and now that I'm done mowing the lawn I've been going over it with a fine-toothed comb.
A couple things before some of the obligatory photos:
1. The knife has a good heft to it, not too light and not too heavy. There is very minimal skeletonizing in the liners, and none of the parts are dainty. The barrel spacers seem especially beefy.
2. The G10 is wonderful in the hand. Nice contouring and a very comfortable texture.
3. It took me a couple minutes to piece together why I wasn't feeling the normal click-clack of the detent ball while opening and closing. Upon closer inspection I was blown away by the amount of machining done in such a small area of the tang. Not only is the lockface radiused, there is a ballmill groove to act as a detent ramp, and there is a stop pin notch for the closed position. The attention to detail in the lock area is impressive! The detent ball is nearly imperceptible both opening and closing the knife.
4. The lockup on mine is just right. The liner is fully engaged, but no more than that.
Now some pictures, these were just a few quickies after unboxing.
Sal, you did an excellent job bringing Sardinian style into Spyderco's lineup.

Mine is coming Saturday. Looking forward to it.
Re: Anyone own a Pattada? Or have any hands on info?
Anyone else who has the Pattada, what do your lock faces look like?
Both the face of the liner and the tang have a bumpy texture that doesn't look like machine marks. Were the lockface and liner carbidized?

Mine came a day early, love it! Buy one! Trust me I got super smooth action and lockup on mine and Ergos are great for my large hands. Good purchase for sure. I ordered some black wire clips from the outlet store I prefer black over polished myself, I wear black jeans most of the time so I will switch that other wise I'm very pleased.

Great photos, Radioactive!
The more I look at it, the more I like what I am seeing.

Mmmmmmmmm beautiful pics RAS I appreciate it, I must get one.
My response is "Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there, it just means you can't see it". Sal G.

One question for the owners. How thin is behind the edge ?
Re: Anyone own a Pattada? Or have any hands on info?
Very thin! Scalpel like almost. I don't have actual dimensions. It's a nice knife that's all I know.

This knife is amazing. I love how it rides in the pocket, secure but smooth. Open it up and it is like a laser slicer. It seems smaller by a pretty big margin than a Military but it is not. I am enchanted with this knife right now.

That max boost spike! :D :p
Guessing you're on stock tune...? They just released a TSB for a factory reflash.
I am really starting to crumble and want this knife right now, despite saving up for others!

It only has 1100 miles so I am a ways out from deciding to what to do with it.

Does the handle offer enough grip in a virtual stabbing motion ? I wonder if that small guard offers enough security also.Just curious.Archimedes wrote:This knife is amazing.
