Posted to BF as well:

Spyderco Spreite - German for leaf blade, and sounds a bit like sprite (small elf)

The PM series does have more of a clipped leaf blade, rather than an actual leaf blade (Sages, Dragonflies, etc.)

Call it the "Special Military". Call it anything, just bring it on! I think the PM2 is one of the best folders ever made for many reasons, but in large part due to the compression lock. A smaller version would be **** useful.

Then, put a compression lock and tip up carry clip on the Military (another great knife), and call it the "Military 2".

Unfortunately, I believe "Patriot" is already being used by Emerson: http://emersonknives.com/shop/knives/patriot-2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not sure if fixed blade names apply to folders... but, LT Wright also has a Patriot model.

Up coming smaller PM2 name ideas :
" Para - compact"
" PMC " ... Para Military Compact
" PPK " ... Patriot's Pocket Knife ( not sure if that would fly, sounds cool tho ) or Perfect Pocket Knife ( that's how it sounds so far :) )
" Intrepid "
" Salute "
" Listo " ( ready )

...could be a DemiMilitary?

I like the suggestion of Recruit or PM3 as well.

like many others though, the name matters less than getting one in my pocket ;)

since it'll be smaller than the MIL and PM2, then how about calling it 'Smurf'
after all its what they affectionately call the 'vertically-challenged' BUD/S cadets

Covert's no good. Have a old Gerber by that name..
I guess my first thought "punymilitary" has a bad ring to it too.. ;)

How about a simple, straight forward "Para-EDC".

What then happens when they bring out a 3rd generation redesigned Paramilitary 2? Its' name will already be taken for this different knife.

How about Parachuter. Or P-shooter for slang. :p

;) For me with just that even not knowing the specification of the model you understand it's a smaller one.
