What are your favorite Spydercos of 2015

#1

Post by Archimedes »

I really got back into Spydercos this year. Back where I started on the forums 10 plus? years ago.

Anyway there are a few knives that really stuck out for me this year.

One the Farid K2. This is probably the most beast folding slicer ever built. I love this knife.

Two the Spyderco Military. I know, an old one, but I had not owned one in years and have been carrying one with much delight this year. A true folding knife classic.

Three is the Pacific Salt SE. I used the crap out of one this year for all sort of dirty work and what a work horse. Cut it and forget it!!!

The last one I just got, the Bradley Bowie. I have not used it yet, but what a fixed blade this is. An amazing piece.

Honorable mention goes to the Slyzs Bowie. Perfect in a folding EDC blade.

So as the the year 2015 draws to a close what were you favorite Spydercos of 2015?

Okay.

Favorite High-End Beauty: PITS Folder, which is super-unique and well-executed.
Favorite Work Horse: Black Blade, SpyderEdge Pacific Salt: it is maintenance free, rustproof, big and cool.
Favorite Sprint Run: HAP40 Burnt Orange Endura 4: a classic design, with a nice color and crazy super-steel all at a reasonable price.

Bring on 2016! :D

Favorite overall would be the HAP40 Endura. The PITS is the runner up in second place. The HAP40 steel and the PITS design are very special. I feel lucky to be able to hold something like that in my hand every day.

I also picked up a few older Spydercos on Blade Forums that are really terrific. An original full-size Manix with spine lock, a carbon fiber Manix XL in S90V and a Manix 2 in CPM-M4. Those are all just epic knives.

Hmm. That's a tough one. I'd agree on the Lil' Lionspy and Native5 S90V Forum Knife. I have a feeling that the blue PM2 in 110V will go down in history of being one of the best all-around Spyderco's ever made.

Nice score on all 3, super jealous of the XL & M4 though.

Blurple Para....absolute work horse that came insane, retarded, screaming wicked sharp....and stayed that way after cutting lotsa stuff!!
Black Southard.....super sexy and flawless build!! Rockets open with hole or flipper every time and excellent steel!!
Blue twill Domino.....see reasons stated above!

I was most impressed by the kitchen knives with their unique and practical serrations, and the Native 5 LW.

I didn't buy any 2015 knives, but the PITS was the most tempting to get. May still pick up a forum native if they are available after the holidays
