Catcherman was taken at airport.
Catcherman was taken at airport.
Accidentally left my old original catcherman that my dad gave me in my carry on after a hunt. I am not a happy camper right now. Need to find a an original catcherman preferably yellow. Where can I find one? Please let me know thanks!

Sorry to hear that. Might try blade forums, eBay, or country knives

Spyderco may still have some of the USN Cathermen in stock. It's not yellow though.

Some a-hole got himself a nice knife. This is why I don't fly.

Sorry about your loss. That always stinks. I would try the venders listed above for the original Catcherman or try the USN model at Spyderco (which has an upgrade on steel to H1 from the older AUS-8).

It might be a personal thing but I refuse to pay a ridiculous amount of money to then be treated like a criminal. I realize some of us have no choice but to fly, I am just fortunate to be able to choose not to. Sad that you had to lose a good knife.

Too bad they did not give you the option of going back and mailing it from the airport post office or UPS store. I had them do this for me when I explained the sentimental attachment of my large knife. Of course, I always check in very early just in case something like this happens.

They can't take it from you. Tell them your going to mail it to yourself. I've done this before.

Investigate into where that particular airport liquidates or sells off their confiscated knives, and then try to get lucky and catch your Catcherman! I've seen many being sold off in lots before...
Going back to Caly.

Re: Catcherman was taken at airport.
That is absolute thievery and absolutely disgusting of them to do. I understand the need for security measures and I know people will say one needs to make sure not to carry it there if there is danger of losing it, but there has to be some compromise. They need to make prepaid postage padded envelopes available to people so things like this cannot happen. Even if they made the customer pay for the postage cost, it would be better than losing a cherished knife. I feel your pain my friend, and I pray and hope you get another Catcherman and enjoy.
