Post by SG89 »

Was wondering which folder had the thickest blade. I know the techno is pretty thick just wanted to see which others are thicker. :spyder:

'Speaking strictly of folders I believe my C-46 Lum Tanto folder has the thickest spine that I'm aware of. The Spine on my C-60 Ayoob sure is also built like a skyscraper as well.

As far as Spyderco's fixed blades I think I have to give that honor to a Bob Lum model as well>> because that LUM FB08 fixed blade was a thick one for sure.

In addition to the others mentioned, I believe the Vallotton is pretty thick too.

Szabohawk maybe?

Edit: Whoops, I see you are just talking about folders. I have to agree with the above posters in regards to the thickest folders.

My Vallotton at 4MM that i still love. May not be the thickest but certainly has the most wicked tip on a folder that Ive seen. Super sharp and strong.

Serrata is 6mm thick (And surprisingly good in the kitchen despite that), and has the most comfortable handle I've ever held. Not a folder though...the Techno is my thickest bladed folder at 4.5mm. My Schempp Tuff and Valotton at 4mm are close, and BattleStation at 3.5mm is also quite robust.
