Lil' Tuff?
does a smaller Tuff, or something similar interest anyone? Seems like lots of models are getting the "Lil" treatment and I wonder if this one would be well received.

Re: Lil' Tuff?
No, but I would like a Tuff XL, especially without the choil
Re: Lil' Tuff?
After seeing how much more useful the Lil LionSpy is for EDC, I'd definitely be interested in a Lil Tuff.
Re: Lil' Tuff?
I never bought the original as it was outside my 3.5" blade carry laws. I think something scaled down would be a very cool knife.

Yup. A 4 1/8" or so blade. I'm not a fan of the mini versions, most large folders don't bother me and I prefer the feel/heft of them. I do enjoy carrying small folders too but there are already so many ~3" blades to choose from. I'm not sure I'd buy one anyway, they're quite spendy but I do want a Tuff.

There are not a lot of "tankish" small folders though! Are they necessary? Probably not, but neither are Hummers and they are everywhere. Just be fun to have a scaled down version of the same bad a$$ knife but in a more urban EDC version

Re: Lil' Tuff?
I kind of like the original Tuff. I handled one for the first time at the sfo a few months ago and it was actually a bit smaller than I had envisioned. It was actually one of my favorite knives that I handled that day...especially from and ergonomics standpoint. The only reason I never got one was I found the blade wasn't pointy enough for me.
Re: Lil' Tuff?
You might be onto something here. The Tuff is very comfortable in hand, and I like the negative blade angle. However, I did feel like it was heavy to carry and a bit bulky. If I were going to carry a knife that large I'd grab my Manix XL. The handle did have some extra room when using the choil, so I'd say you could shorten it a bit and thin out the blade and make a top notch edc. It wouldn't even need to get that much smaller, more like a medium tuff, than a lil tuff.
Re: Lil' Tuff?
We need a Tuff XL. It would pretty much be a folding Kukri. :)

My Lil' Tuff is a Cruwear Manix... :p
I dunno, some things should stay big and manly, like a Hummer. It is just wrong to shrink it to the size of a Prius...

Rather see a bigger one myself. We already have the Techno which fills the overbuilt small folder role pretty well.

Re: Lil' Tuff?
The Battlestation is also a tough little bulldog of a knife... I handled one before, and was seriously tempted to buy it, even though I had no interest in it before. The ergos may look bad to the eye, but it felt pretty good in hand.
I will not be surprised if I cave in and get one before they are discontinued...

Re: Lil' Tuff?
Agree on the Battlestation being stout, and a train wreck visually. Feels decent in the hand but is still a Tanto so pass. I just find less utility in Tanto than most other blade shapes.
I could equate this to handguns...they still make full size pistols. There are still those that carry full size and might suggest you need your testosterone checked for carrying a small low capacity pistol. But the reality is that the market wants smaller. I had a store tell me he was not interested in any fashion in my full size Beretta 9mm, said folks want "carry guns" and large guns sit too long. I think the Para 3 will show how the market truly feels when it replaces the PM2 in many pockets
