quick endura SE question

#1

Post by dubya3 »

I know the E4 is available in Spyderedge and in that awesome green FRN but is it available together? The catalog shows available edges only for the black version. Also, is the SE endura flat ground?

I really want a new SE endura but something fresh like the green, if it's not available I think I'll go after the Pacific Salt (in black lol).

SE E4 is saber ground and is a beast. The CE E4 is available in the very awesome foliage green (sort of gray) but SE is black only. All the great colors you probably like are the FFG only. You can always buy two and swap the scales. The Pac Salt does come in yellow or black only. The CE, although despised by many, is the best of both worlds in a blade this size. I find it to be as beastly as the SE but having the right amount of PE for way more utility. CE gets a bad rap on Delica and Native sized blades because you don't get enough of either edge.

Dang...I was afraid of that and when I didn't see SE in anything but black on Bhq I figured that was the case. The foliage green doesn't do it for me, it's the spearmintish green I'm loving. The burnt orange isn't too awesome either, at least in the picture, but let's not pretend that I won't be buying one or two HAP40 knives!

Again, scales swaps are not that hard. But you have to buy 2. I will say that for about $60 per E4, you are getting a whole lot for $120. You could use the FFG as a kitchen knife for sure. Maybe gift the FFG black to a friend?

I want that Endura, been looking for one for awhile. I got this ZDP Delica in SE a couple months ago pretty cheaply considering they aren't too common. It's a mean cutter, I can only imagine how well that Endura JA has would be!

If you had a choice between the fully serrated VG10 Endura and the new black Aqua Salt, which would you choose then?

I actually got too antsy last night and ended up buying a SE Endura 4 with VG-10 instead of the Pacific Salt. I just couldn't bring myself to buy another knife with that older handle style.

I think I'm going to buy a PE E4 in blue or green and do a blade swap so I have a Spyderedge Endura 4 in a colored handle.
