Any leads on a caly 3.5 SB

#1

Post by swigert »

Anyone know any dealers that still have one. Even if it's MSRP or higher.

Not a buy or sell thread. Looking for a dealer. Need NIb.

If you run out of dealers, they show up in the BST forums and on the big auction site regularly.

Country Knives has "a limited quantity" for $250. They may be CC's. I bought my green PM2 from here after they were sold out everywhere else. It's a family operation. Brian Huegel and his family are nice to deal with.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

Some of their prices are very nice. I got some long discontinued Goddards for around $100, which is a good deal in my head.

That's why they're still in stock. You can show up to every other retailer with a dump truck full of cash and they can't sell you one because they just don't have it.

If they ran it again I'd probably buy one. I passed on the first and sort of regret it, but not enough to pay the secondary market prices.

I have thinned out my collection a lot over the past 2 years, but one of my go-to staples is my Caly 3.5 SB. I have gotten rid of a lot of knives that I really enjoy, but this one is a keeper.

And my post is totally not helping you find one. Sorry about that.

I wish I kept one of mine... I had two and sold the barely used one for around $150 and the NIB one for around $180 and they took FOREVER to sell... Things have changed haha

Same here. I had a couple and let them go and now I wish I'd kept them. Hindsight is a *****.

If I can't find another SB Caly then I would love to see a HAP40 Caly 3 sprint. Not holding my breath for either one, but a fella can wish...

Let's add a pic of probably my most used Spydie of the last four years, beautiful patina.

I think we need a comparison shot or two of the 3.0 in case anybody has trouble visualizing it 0.5" shorter ;) :D
Not nearly as tasty as Marcus's, but here goes:

Two additional comparison pics just for reference:
one variant of each one of the four members of the Calypso/Caly-family and the three production variants of the Caly 3.5
