Knife just came in and S90V is not printed on blade.

Should I be worried?

Bizarre. I wouldn't be worried since it came straight from Spyderco. I would imagine it just got overlooked. I'm sure you can get a replacement...I'd probably keep it since its likely one of a kind. :)

I don't think I'd be worried, but I would talk to Spyderco. I would be disappointed, the S90V is one of the biggest selling points.

That section also looks a little unfinished. As far as I know, the blade stamp is done with an etching machine. I would be surprised if they couldn't finish it and etch it and send it back to you. (Or just give you another one.)

I'd be torn between just keeping it and having them replace or put it on 50/50.

Possible that they won't have a replacement in stock if you wait too long to decide.

Did you purchase from Spyderco or from someone else who didn't want it?

Maybe keep it as a novelty, maybe the only one like it, hard decision though, its nice having that S90V also.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

Yea, like others have said, I'm not really sure what I'd do. On the one hand it's an interesting piece that has a mistake, which is rare for Spyderco. However, I'd also want the steel on the blade, not really sure why. Let us know what becomes of it.

Things like that do happen. The first hundred or so original Gayle Bradley folders left the factory without the GB logo. Call Spyderco and they'll make it right according to whatever your wishes are.

Me too. My forum knife is pretty much a sentimental piece and will never be sold. I know what the steel is and I'm the only one who will ever own it, so i'd just stick with the unique piece.

Worried, no. You purchased it directly from Spyderco, so you know it's real. IMHO, you can either be annoyed that it's "imperfect", or thrilled that it's "unique and highly collectible".

They still show as being in stock at SFO, so I'm sure Spyderco will exchange it for you, if that's what you want. As for me, if it were mine I'd be those who would keep it.

I want it primarily for re-sale value, in case I end up not liking the Native 5 (I'm an Endura lover)

If I try to re-sell it without the S90V and Spyderco etching, the average craven human will undoubtedly try to use that as leverage to low-ball me as a seller.

I contacted Spyderco and one of their employees arranged a pick-up with UPS. I just dropped it off in a UPS box. Hopefully it doesn't get lost.

I'd keep it... if you use it, it is still the same steel whether it says so or not, if you decide to sell it, it is much rarer to have one with the missing marking, and I'm thinking people will pay extra for that, as opposed to try and lowball you.

Knife just came back in. The S90v is on the blade but now one of the rear screws holding the FRN together is missing.

Is the missing screw a big deal? Will the knife fall apart? I really don't feel like sending it back again.

I would get the screw. If you call them, they will send you the screw in a small bag in an envelope.

I had the same screw fall out on one of mine too. And the other one was not tightened either. I wonder if they have a machine tightening those screws?
