Steve Butcher contact info?

#1

Post by pdxgti8v »

My very first Spyderco knife is on the way, a Digi camo Paramilitary 2...woo hoo!!

I am looking through the custom scales that Steve Butcher makes, and want to order a set, but can't find any contact info for the gentleman.....

Anybody know how to get a hold of the guy?

Ray, I can vouch for the fact that Steve Ketchen makes some drop dead gorgeous scales. Just not 100% sure he's the guy the OP is looking for.

OTOH, the only reference I can find to scales by a "Steve Butcher" is what amounts to one post by MadRookie that appeared on this forum and several others, so he may have gotten the name wrong, or Steve Ketchen may have been using a pseudonym at that time.

Hey guys, yeah, I've seen both guys' work...I dont know if they are the same or not...either guy is brilliant at making scales though....

link for Steve Butcher

https://www.flickr.com/photos/mica17/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but there is no contact info on that page for him....

then here's the link for Steve Ketchen....

the Ketchen gentleman just had a baby a couple years ago, and from what i can gather, Steve Butcher is retired from the LA Forensic department and now lives here in Oregon, so probably not the same guy (especially age-wise)????

Definitely looks like they're two different people. I can say for certain that Steve Ketchen lives in Arizona.

Apologies Gents!
Clearly I got those two fine craftsmen confused... Thanks for getting it untangled.

I know that most, if not all of those knives, are made by forum member Boomer52, aka Steve Butcher. He comes here frequently so you could probably PM him. He has a bunch of knives in the "Show Your Mods" thread: http://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtop ... start=2380" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
