Lionspy Pocket Clip problem

#1

Post by SpyderCrowe »

I recently bought a Lionspy after falling in love with my Lil guy. One problem.....I hate the pocket clip. is there an aftermarket clip I can easily swap out or any kind of mod?? Please help me carry the knife I love so much!

Hi SpyderCrowe,
Welcome to the forum. :) I would probably check out ebay for after-market pocket clips on the Lil' Lionspy. There are several guys put there who make custom clips on places like Blade Forums, etc.

I take it the clip from the Lil' does not swap onto the full-size?

No, someone tried that when the Lil came out. The clip is the reason I quickly stopped carrying my LionSpy.

Thanks guys! The clip actually hurts when opening the knife, sticks out rather far, and snags on EVERYTHING. I have both the full size and lil and only carry the lil simply due to the clip. Unfortunately the lil clip does not work with the big guy. I wish there was another option. Maybe take the ole Dremel to the original clip??? Hmmmmmm.

Can you just take a sharpening stone and round off the end... or bend it?

Looking at Google Images for the SR1, which is a similar design. it looks like there are a couple of variations on the clip design. This type of clip might work for you.

I'm not sure if a DPx clip (also manufactured by Lionsteel) would work on the Lionspy, but I could test that out when I have time.

The SR2 clip fits and is an improvement. If you contact Lionsteel (Gianni) you can order one from them (and a glass breaker if you want that)

Here it is next to the stock clip:
