I would think the Civilian would be the scariest looking.
My Szabo folder is fine. It certainly isn't a flickable knife, but I have no trouble opening it one handed. I don't really thumb flick anymore because I feel it causes undue stress on the locking mechanism of a knife.

For you "mean and frightening" = "awesome?" One question at a time! I choose to answer the question: "which spyderco looks most intimidating?"

I used to think the Yojimbo looked the most intimidating, but I'm not sure if I got desensitized because it doesn't do that to me anymore. I used to not carry it because I thought it would scare people. I know I'm Mr. Kris now but I actually think, of all the knives I own, that it is the most intimidating. The wavy blade elicits something primal, like the fear we have for a coiled snake. Also, at first glance you'd probably think both sides were sharpened like a dagger, which is what it's design is based on. To me large doesn't mean scarier. Past a certain size I feel like it's more about shape, with curves and hooks looking more scary for the reason mentioned.

No idea how the Szabo is, to answer that one.

Most awesome or most mean and frightening? Those are two different things to me.

Most mean and frightening? I guess the Warrior although that isn't really a Spyderco design. Of course the Szabo isn't a Spyderco design either. The Civilian would be the scariest Spyderco design in my opinion.

i don't own any of them and in general intimidating people is outside of my needs in a pocket knife.

Most awesome looking? Man, too many to choose.

Subjective, but here goes: Civilian/Matriarch, Police with teeth, and the Szabo is pretty gnarly looking too. Put a spyder edge on the Szabo and that would be intimidating IMO. I wouldn't want someone weilding a Schempp Rock in my vicinity either. ;)

I'll go with the SS Harpy in SE for the "intimidating" vote. Several years back, my Harpy accidentally chewed through the skin, ligaments, etc. on the knuckle of my right index finger like a laser through butter. My finger is still crooked to this day. :( :o

Yeah, it's the least suited to stabbing someone but the scariest to non-knife-people.

You bet. ;) Especially after they watch Hannibal Lector use one in the movie to dispatch an unfortunate victim.

None look scary to me. They just look like knives designed for different applications. I would never call a knife mean. I am no more frightened by a knife than I am by a hammer or a car. Just tools.

The Szabo, Tatanka, and K2 are all intimidating folders because of size alone. The Szabo more than the other two perhaps, because of the very aggressive scimitar blade shape.

The Civilian and Matriarch are scary because they just look plain nasty.

Then again, there are people who would be intimidated by a Paramilitary 2 so it is very subjective.
