PITS review

Post by sal »

This was posted over on BB, and then removed (for some reason). I thought it was a nicely done review and thought to share it here.

It's a well done review. I keep looking at this knife but too many other Spydies on the list ahead of it : /

Good review. I especially found it interesting that he put the tip of the blade above the pivot to help avoid accidental closure. It's not a design consideration that I had thought about before, but it makes sense to me.

Wow, that was a very nice, and very thorough review. Some interesting design considerations discussed.

I'm still enjoying my PITS very much. Along with the Schempp Bowie, it's been getting a lot of use.

Now THAT is a knife review! Wowie! Super well done there, subwoofer.

The PITS is on my wish list, though not that high on it and with my predicted economic future, it may be a while before I get to experience it.

Wow, subwoofer did a great job on the PITS review. I really like mine and wish I could do review as well as he did. He really covered everything. Today (subject to change on short notice) the PITS is my favorite spydie followed by the pm2. Thanks!

Repeating myself...
An excellent review of an excellent knife. Spyderco is my EDC knife and I the name I collect. Besides designing and making excellent knives, the Spyderco family are also the nicest folks you would ever want to meet.

Hello all, and thanks for the positive feedback.

I considered posting it here, but having linked to Spyderco's Facebook and twitter accounts and sent the link to Joyce, I thought it would lead people to it.

Shall I post it on this forum as well, or just leave this link?

Never thought about getting a PITS until now!
I believe you have also cost me quite a bit in flashlights as well.
Look forward to your future reviews here.

Thank you for sharing this Sal. The PITS and Slysz Bowie are at the very top of my list for the best new knives of late. I've taken the PITS on several business trips now and it has become my primary knife for that purpose.

I feel very confident and comfortable knowing I have such a great blade with such a great edge/steel in a non-threatening non-locking Slipit format while in DC and other metro areas. Plus, of course, it is an absolutely stunning knife to look at! The PITS is a real home run in my book, I have no issues with the lock strength or it closing on you unexpectedly because as you grip the knife handle, you compress the lockbar into place quite firmly. It's a really great slicer to boot, mine came scary sharp and has remained so after weeks of daily use. Thanks again to Sal and Mike Read making this knife a reality. Cheers, Radioactive :)
