Fascinating...robotic edge sharpening on some models...that is EXCITING!!! :D

Sharing so much of their factory workings and familial insights in these mini-docs are another testament to the generosity of the Glesser family... :) :spyder:

Thanks for sharing Sal, Gail & Eric! Thanks for posting Scroop :)

Some very interesting videos. It was cool to get a peek behind the curtains. As for the sharpening robot arm, I have to agree, pretty cool.

My only complaints are that they didn't color correct between the two cameras, so there was a distracting color shift when they switched angles between cameras, and that they seemed to have turned the camera sharpening up to 11. I like my knives to get their sharpness cranked way up, but not my video. :p

I would love to do a multi-segment with Sal and Eric describing their conceptual to final production designs.
How about a 5 cam studio chain w/a 20' jib...it would be EPIC

I know I'm preaching to the choir on this, but what an amazing company it is...
I don't care if you like knives or hate them, anyone should respect and value their philosophy and way of doing what they do.

Yet again a great video that will be watched several times :D Makes me proud to be a member here and a loyal Spyderco customer!

Nice to see water cooling.

It would be nice to see some more specific statements at times as often there are references to goals/quality which are hard to interpret .

How for example has the process improved to allow moving the knives closer to customs which could not be achieved in the past. What exactly is being talked about?

I think Sal / Eric / Spydercrew were quite forthcoming and I was actually surprised at the level of disclosure they laid out for all the worldwideweb to survey.

Trade secrets, tactics, or strategy may be involved....

These two videos were really great to watch and so highly informative! Makes me all the more excited to finally be able to meet these guys in person at the Oregon knife show in a few weeks.

Many thanks to BHQ and Spyderco for making these! Cheers, Radioactive :)

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I live in Denver, and visit the factory outlet store as often as I can. Yesterday, for the new Mule Team 20. The factory expansion looks great, and it must be exciting to be getting a brand new facility to continue building knives better. And with a grand trademark circular window to boot! Oh how I wish I could get a real tour of this process with Sal and Eric. Oh well, this video was a very well done snap-shot of it all. Thank you Spyderco.
