I'm a working man and I use my knives hard.

Hopefully these new byrds will hold a nice edge like the bd1 manix 2 lwt I've been using.

Awesome.

I'm in need of a new work knife.

Something smaller than my normal blades.

This might be just what I need.

I'm excited.
I like both steels too.. As aranrae stated they hold a nice working edge and sharpen up nice!! John :)

Hi FrankWood,.

Welcome to our forum.

You might consider using them for a while before delegating them to the Showroom? We put a lot of effort into design and materials so they perform well.

We're trying to upgrade the steels. We keep testing samples made by makers to see who can do what.

Is it possible at least in theory that a new Byrd Cara Cara may come into existence?

The cara cara was just updated in the last year or 2, another version is probably a ways down the road yet.

Sorry, No new non-lockers at this time.

The new Raven2 and Crow2 are coming in with CTS-BD1 blade steel. The best Raven and Crow yet.

I'm going to have to get a Raven 2. They have done the 8C Byrds just fine but the BD-1 upgrade sounds better. I'll start looking for them.

sal,

Any info on the weight of the new Raven. The old one in G10 was 3.3 oz according to your website. Hopefully the new one is comparable.

The Raven2 and crow2 models have just come in. They look good. I dont have one with me, but I would guess they weigh a bit more due to the thicker blade stock.

Or you could send me a pair to take pics of. :p

Seriously though, I can't wait to test them out. They have been my favorite Byrds all along so I am very anxious to see what you did with them.

Like the new Byrd models, awesome new choices at every price point, way to go Spyderco!
Looking forward to this new CTS BD1 steel which I believe is made in USA and is always cool, also the titanium handle CC2 looks amazing. Spyderco Byrd line is coming up. Update: Raven 2 on order should be here ANY DAY!! :D
