I could point out the difference in the steels in the 2 knives mentioned as to why the price is greater but that is really beside the point. You don't like the finish on the knife, you think for the price it should be better. Okay. You have contacted Spyderco about and they told you to send it in. A...

Acceptable and unacceptable are in the eyes of the beholder. If the OP believes the fit and finish are unacceptable, that's up to him. We are never going to come to a to an agreement as a group as to what is or isn't acceptable or at what price we should expect perfection. $100? $200? $300? I've got...

Lately my pocket scalpels are an Urban Wharncliffe and a G10 Delica. I've always been able to get VG-10 pretty sharp but recently I used a Sharpmaker and then a leather strop to mirror polish the edge. They are now way sharper than I was able to get before.

My first choice would be pewter but I wouldn't mind having some beads in other material, FRN, brass, silver, Ti or G10.

Tony, sounds like great advice to me!

I'm a 911 dispatcher, my 4 year old grand daughter's class went to the firehouse a couple of weeks ago. I told her to tell the firemen that her grandfather tells them where to go. She told them "You can't go anywhere until my paw-paw says you can!".

All the philosophical arguments notwithstanding, the simple fact remains that publishing the names, addresses, and booking photographs of persons who have been arrested is done every day. You can argue that Arpaio's method of doing so it a bit more over the top than most, but in posting the booking...

I support the sheriff on most things but I don't agree that mug shots are for the public record, especially for amusement. Oh, btw, innocent until proven guilty applies to all crimes.

Is this what we mean by shiny footprints?

I make it a point not to have a gun and knife out at the same time, if you know what I mean.

One handed, but I release the lock and run the spine along my leg to close the blade. That works with other types of locks also. And slippies.

A few years ago I stopped at my brother in law's work site. A scrap yard, I noticed a meter on the wall by the scales that every truck had to check in at. It checked for radiation. I don't think there will be any problems.

I bought my first Spydie in '98 or '99 from Smokey Mt Knifeworks. A Rescue marked down to $20. My daughter and her boyfriend were working at a Boy Scout camp and his blue Rescue "disappeared". So I gave him mine. I bought another, so, I still have my 2nd Spyderco.

I had a Persistance with a stripped head. Came from the factory that way. I took my Dremel and cut a slot in the head. I don't take my knives apart as a rule, I just needed to move the clip.
