" ... I love de DF2 and have three versions (ZDP-189, H-1, and Orange) but don't like the color of the G-10 version." Pick up a G10 D-fly and dye the scales. Cheaper than a custom, and makes confiscation less of a worry ... I also have to frequent same type of facilities, and even though ...

Re: Massdrop appears to be conforming to MAP

So far this year, I've only bought 2 Spydies, one sprint, and one at 60% off MSRP. I wasn't sure how the MAP pricing would affect my purchases, but I do have to say, it has taken the fun out of the hunt for Spydies. I always enjoyed unexpectedly finding and jumping on a great sale price. Now, with ...

Re: Advantages of VG10 over other premium steels

I am a big fan of VG-10. As others have stated, it feels like a very well-balanced steel to me. I have some older VG-10 Spydercos, and they take and hold an edge just fine, never wished they were anything else. I also like S30V, and while I'm sure there are extremes where S90 or S110 would perform b...

Re: Amsterdam Meetsters

As a spydie-holic and member of the forum I am interested in these discussions, but sadly I doubt the Amsterdam meet is in my future ... a Golden meet, while far more likely is a stretch ... now a North East meet ... or a South East meet ... or an ANY East meet ... THAT I would most definitely do! L...

Re: Lets see your oldest Spydie

The Solo is only a quasi-Spyderco, but it's a few years older than the SS ATS-55 Dragonfly This leads me to a question (no intent to hijack, thought readers of this thread would be best able answer) ... how old are the Solo models? I have a G-10 pushbutton lock Solo (SO05?), and have wondered how o...

Re: That feeling when...

I try not to collect for just for the sake of collecting. For every knife I own, there is a situation, real or imagined, where it works better than any of my other knives. This requirement keeps my total investment down to a reasonable level. I like to say I'm doing this ... but it's that whole ima...

5 most used, (not just carried and/or fondled):

Sage 1
G10 D-Fly
ZDP Manbug

It's always surprising to me how hard it is to derive these lists …
