Re: Sea kayak fishing & an aggressive hammerhead
Oh man that is pretty scary stuff. A scuba diver some years back told me some machine shops around marinas where divers frequent have made what they call an "Anti Shark Pike": This consists of a solid or telescoping rod/shaft (with locks that keep it rigid when extended) that has a very s...

Re: "Talkin' Story"
I carry a Gerber EAB regular version for the multiple purposes of something of non scary size, lendable, very easy to carry due to small size, and as a blade I can abuse (pry, scrape, cut thin metal, etc) without worry since it is replaceable. It has served the purpose of a lent knife on multiple oc...

Is Manly An Authorized Licensee?
Is Manly an authorized licensee of the Round Opening Hole, Jess Horn and other IP? Their fixed blade, while I cannot place its name in memory, looks very much like one of the recent fixed blade offerings by Spyderco. Their Peak and Peak 2 are obviously derived from the Jess Horn, in addition to havi...

I lean more in the user direction of collecting, and have found that my purchasing frequency has slowed down as I have filled all the various niches that I have need for a knife.

Re: Time for New, More Advanced Spyderco Pocket Clips
One problem with grippier clips is higher level of wear on the pocket outsides of clothing. Keep the textures on the knife where they belong.

Re: Fish Hunter has arrived! :)
It really bothered me to leave this issue hanging, so here is what I came up with for a way to attach straps to the scabbard using existing holes. Here is the business side that the straps go through, and is against the appendage being attached to: http://imgur.com/3KsRQCt.jpg And here is the side t...

Re: Spydercard value?
Good grief! If they are going for that much it is time for Spyderco to bring out an updated (so it does not affect collector values) version. See: //forum.spyderco.com/viewto ... d#p1160216

A wire clip is good for putting a small knife on the outside your underwear band so that nothing is digging into your skin.

Well, if they were still on the market, the SpyderCard or ByrdCard would be perfect. But definitely a Manbug in addition to whatever else you decide on.

Forgot to mention, I have never liked the compression lock. First time I opened one, a ParaMilitary, It bit the meat of my index finger. Aliexpress seems to have eliminated Spyderco as a valid search term for the most part. I have stuck almost exclusively to Spyderco for all my folding knives, and exclusively for EDC. My first Spyderco was...
