Re: Which Golden made design for 15V debut?
I'd rather have K390 than 10V. Or how about some S390 instead of going for all Vanadium steels. Seen some Russians get that up to 70 HRC. I have S390. I like it, i got the blade from Russia. Russians are legit steel nuts. Based on just one example of this class i can't say it's my favorite. I can o...

Re: Wear Resistance
Could 15V be sharpened on the sharpmakers brown and white stones (or be content with the lower grit finish from the sharpmaker diamond and cbn stones)? Or would people need to invest in some new sharpening equipment to really get the most out of that steel? It's just like any steel. If the sharpeni...

Re: Wear Resistance
I haven't tried to grind a whole blade out of these but I've sharpened them. Rex 121 takes a while even with diamonds. Awhile back Luong re-heat treated a 15V blade of mine. I think he got it to 70-71 RC. It wasn't what I'd call thin behind the edge. Maybe .020 to .025"? It wasn't overly diffic...

Wear Resistance
If you want a steel like 10V, it should be apparent that the tasks you want you knife to perform are reliant on raw wear resistance. Yet I see people wanting 10V and not 15V. I see people wanting Maxamet but not 15V. I see people wanting advanced steels that no one else is using, yet people don't cl...

Re: Which Golden made design for 15V debut?
I’m still hoping to get 10v in something smaller than a k2. And you guys want to add 5 more v’s on me... How about we split the 15v up into an "11v" (A11) Military for you, and a 4v Military for me ? (actually I would buy both, before even considering 15v :) ) May i ask why you would want...

Kind of surprised there aren't more people interested in this steel.

Re: Question for Jim Ankerson...
I tend to disagree with a lot of people who preach about Jim as some kind of steel prophet. I also tend to disagree with so many people saying Jim's tests prove which steels are the best for others. But i do find Jim's tests informative and Jim does a very good job at defining exactly what his tests...

Sal, we all try the best we can to follow shiny footprints. You're a stellar exemplar of that motto. It's good to hear you say something that let's us know you're actually human :)
Thanks.

Re: REX 45 Military In Stock!
That knifeworks S90V framelock is really a nice knife. I have mine and am very glad to have it. I am shocked to hear that they are still available. Maybe knifeworks got a run of 10,000 or something? I'm not serious, but it is a real sleeper for no particular reason. If anybody missed the Rex45 and ...

Which model deserves to carry 15V's debut?
In which model would you like to see CPM 15V make its debut? I'd believe US models would have the highest probability but Taiwan may be feasible considering current tariff issue. For me: 1)Kapara with marbled carbon fiber 2)Chaparral with special edition raffir noble 3)PM2 with denim micarta 4)Delic...

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
It seems my earlier post didn't go through, so let me just state for the record I would love to try some 15v. Personally I'd like a Native5 or Military, but pm2 or para3 would work for sure. Also wouldn't be opposed to an Ubran/UKPK or Manix 2. Personally I'd love to see the Kapara in 15V with marb...

Hi Steve, Susan, Welcome to our forum./ Glad you could visit. I thought to use this thread to pass along "Talkin' Story" 'bout Wayne. I know I've got a bunch. I'll try to get to that this weekend. sal Sal, I'm not much of anyone. I'd contribute to two different ideas. One would be an icon...

Re: China and tariffs
History is the best teacher in circumstances such as these, and history shows repeatedly that tariffs cause more harm than good. Sal, was Spyderco production affected by the steel tariffs imposed on China in 2002? I imagine Spyderco's production and output has changed drastically since that time, b...

Re: China and tariffs
Maybe a mod could clean this thread from all the off topic political talk? There is an off topic forum for this BS. The owner of this forum started this thread. He is a smart guy. I'm sure he knew this thread would involve at least some discussion of the politics that involve tariffs and why some p...

Re: Vanadis
Why is spyderco not producing any blades with any vanadis steels? I've tried Vanadis 4E, Vanadis 6, and Vanadis 10 and they're all very superb. Some of my favorites, actually, for different uses. How come we don't see any spyderco knives with these steels? Import cost, availablity in sufficient qua...

we at the very least need to show that we will see to our own ends. Anything less and our country is gone. That's why i don't understand whatsoever the mentality of so many Americans today. They will sacrifice everything our forefathers sweated and bled for in order to show they're accepting, toler...

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
Thanks and blames you for got me into 15v. Hopefully your 70rc 15V fixed blade is still serviceable. Is your vanadis 10 knife going strong too? Agreed. I've a good stash of Austrialian coolibah, mallee, myrtle and various other gum. Bad thing - I allergic to their dust, especially fine dust after 3...
