Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!
It's surprising that it's not a Sprint run. Hard to imagine there's demand for more than a single run.

Re: Do you use your Spyderco or just collect them?
I get the most pleasure from buying, fondling, and modding knives to remove their perceived flaws. Yep it's kinda weird. I like how most people here understand and accept that people are different and they enjoy the hobby in different ways. I carry at least one knife everyday but my "office&quo...

I have a warranty "credit" (plus cash) I would use for this if it comes out before the end of the month (when my "credit" expires).

I think Spyderco's latest policy is to only "reveal" knives that are very close to release. They got tired of people complaining about delays.

Yep plenty of room for all types of users and collectors. No doubt that's best for Spyderco too. No one likes flippers of course. I'd like to get one to use and sharpen and experiment with.

Re: Fake Techno 2?
I don't think there's a fake Techno 2. There's a fake Techno 1. The "higher-end" Spyderco fakes are not even close in quality to the originals. They are easy to tell apart when in hand.

Most likely liners will be coated. As someone pointed out, the original run of this knife last year cost $7 more.

I can understand disappointment over finish quality at that (U.S.) price. Frankly I'm not sure why someone overseas would pay a hugely inflated price when apparently there are other brand options without the mark-up.

Will be interesting to see if there's a dearth of exclusives at some point.

Thanks for the history on this maker, very interesting. Good on you for sticking with them and helping.

You can't just add washers. The spacing needs to match all around the knife at each standoff or backspacer.

For those with the wonky serrated grind, if you lower the angle on the plain edge portion I bet it will look much better.

10% but without a doubt my favorite knife company. Flippers made some heavy inroads to the collection haha. I used to be a real Spyderco fanatic. Still love ‘em but I’ve broadened my horizons.

How does Stretch XL lockup compare to other Spydies?
I love the Manix 2 Lightweight. Also like the Dragonfly 2 wharnie. Never warmed to the Native 5 Lightweight or the Para 3 Lightweight.

Yeah factory knives are usually disappointing in that regard. I've reground a bunch but they certainly don't look as nice as factory.
